If you want to actually understand this conflict then the maps are currently the last place that is of any worth.
Maybe you should be telling this to those obsessed with sqkm of control then, as those numbers are calculated by some amalgamation of where the front lines are.
Smaller scale maps in an open field are utterly pointless, absolutely. In some of these larger cities it can be and has proven to be more significant in terms of long term control of the area. That and for the sqkm controlled piece a sqkm in a city can be more significant than 25 sqkm of open ground.
What these maps often don't tell you is geography. That's still a big piece even in the age of drones.
When it comes down to it knowing what we know now, this war was always going to turn into a drawn out slog where most small advances don't at all matter, but some very much do. Granted those Russian advances into cities that are sitnificant are also very much asymmetrical in terms of value because the ground they just took is harder to hold than it was for the Ukrainians because the Russians destroy everything.

Maps are not the only way to understand this conflict. What in the world are you talking about?

I think maybe you don't like them because of the reality they convey.
All they reveal is Russian progress which is occurring at a snail's pace despite Russia's many supposed advantages.

Well this explains some things
By all means keep using cyrillic phrases in your war descriptions.
Like no one on this board had ever used the phrase "Lyman direction" until it started popping up on Russian war blogs. Now you've adopted it why?
Guy spams the board during Ukranian work hours with Ukranian slopaganda for at least a year at this point and we hear nothing from No Colors about it.
Some guy posts some maps and words something the wrong way and now No Colors is fricking Columbo

There's not a source to respond to here.

I mean, maps are extremely relevant to the Russian theory of victory. They are not particularly relevant to the Ukrainian theory of victory.
So yeah, how important you think maps are is, at some level, a reflection of who you think is going to win.

You flatter me
This war is no different from any war in its primary respect: The micro economics don't matter nearly as much as the macro economics.
Large Power A attacks in force and wins a battle. Small Power B counterattacks and regains some ground while inflicting casualties.
Who cares? Does it matter? Probably not.
What matters is: Can Large Power A inflict its will on Small Power B in perpetuity?
Basically will the Afghan people wake up and come to see themselves as Americans on steep terrain? Absolutely not. Which is why the Americans eventually got sick of that shite and went home.
Can Russia make Ukranians believe that they're really just western Russians? Basically Belarus? And be happy with that situation and stop fighting and assimilate themselves into the Russian empire?
Not gonna happen. If there was ever a chance back in March of 2022, then it's long gone. This thing is costing Russia way too much in blood and treasure. They aren't gonna convince Ukraine to give up. They aren't gonna convince Europe that this was all in everyone's best interest.
Russia isn't the good guy or the aggrieved party.
Eventually they'll get sick of this war. And sick of not being part of the world economy. And they'll go home.

Well. The whole different country, different language, different form of government thing must be a real inconvenience to your theory.
Then there's the part where they're fighting a war with a million casualties to prove that theyre not.
But I appreciate your tenacity in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. You're nothing if not devoted to your craft.

The countries supporting Ukraine have combined GDP that's 35x the size of Russia.
What's gonna change? You think the economies of the West are gonna collapse before Russia's does? This war isn't effecting people in Europe at all. Meanwhile Russians are waiting in fuel lines and can't get packages delivered. Not to mention fleeing the country if they're educated and resourceful.
Russia isn't just fricked.
Russia is perma fricked

Moscow was the little brother to the north-east until the Mongols conquered it and used their princes to collect tribute from everyone else.

Novorossiysk is the main naval logistics hub for the Black Sea Fleet and the pipeline terminal that feeds the war economy. Hitting it with drones, missiles, and sea drones in one wave is exactly the combined-arms approach Ukraine needs to keep using.

Then why did they vote for independence from Russia? After the collapse of the USSR, they all voted in favor of leaving Russia and becoming part of an independent Ukraine. Even Crimea.
The fact that most people in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk wanted to be Ukrainian obviously doesn't refute the fact that a lot of them still wanted to be Russian, and so of course Russia has found many willing collaborators in those regions.
But there's absolutely zero basis for your statement, and you know it.

Updated infographic. Added the facility in Voronezh, it was launched in 2 stages first 77 000 square meters in summer 2025 than another 79 000 square meters became operational almost at the end of 2025.

Jobs added and investment were in two stages, for jobs it was first 3 000 then 4 500 and for investment the first stage was 5 billion or a bit above and then 6 billion. Yekaterinburg isn't on the map as the fire at it was contained and the damage isn't as extensive.

Ukraine has fought tooth and nail for four plus years to remain independent of Russia. Thousands have died and millions are still suffering in their struggle.
They do not want to be a part of Russia.its obvious.
