Stalin and Russian worked together. They both carved up Poland and the Baltic States. Russia wasn’t a good guy here.

It works both ways. At the end of the day and Russia wins, what will they have gained? A wrecked nation, hundreds of thousands of their men killed and wounded. Billions of dollars flushed down the drain. A far weakened position militarily and economically.
No matter what there will be two losers. To what degree only time will tell.

You have forgotten your history, ALL of Russia collaborated with Nazi's.

quote:Keep the faith, comrade. I don’t think it’s an old Russian axiom, but it should be: the hardest part of a three-day special military operation is always the first four years.
Russia is doing 10x fold damage to Ukrainian rear. Hourly strikes everywhere on trains, trucks, fuel storages, gas stations, gas storages, postal office warehouses, port, ships, electrical stations.
This tit for tat with Russia will depopulate Ukraine. They have no economy and soon wont have people willing to live in that hell

Part of Ukraine collaborated with Nazis and part fought back. Pretty sure Stalin( a Georgian thief and murderer if stripped of his soviet titles)wasn acting alone during the communization of farmlands. Same Ukrainians helped facilitate that famine.
Stalin himself collaborated with the Nazis, you fricking imbecile. Are you serious?

The Syzran Oil Refinery is one of Rosneft’s largest oil refineries and a key facility in the southern Volga region. Its annual capacity is approximately 8.5 million tons of crude oil, which amounts to around 3% of russia’s total oil refining capacity. The refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, and bitumen.
OSINT analysts localized the fire near the ELOU-AVT-5 unit at the Syzran Oil Refinery. Detailed information on the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

Sure but in that scenario you take Russia's position every single time over Ukraine's

More info on the Syzran attack.

Syazan Refinery is ablaze following an attack by Defense Forces.
This facility, along with the Kuybyshev and Novokuybyshev plants, forms the so-called Samara oil refining hub.
The plant's annual oil processing capacity reaches 7-8.9 million tons. Preliminary reports indicate that the AVT-5 unit, which handles up to 30% of primary processing, has been hit.

90, including two vehicle ferries shown at berth. The vessels that were still left transited the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea far enough to be out of range. Which isn't helping Crimea.

Meanwhile, adult thinking on Kostisntynivka -
quote:
TL;DR: We assess that by the end of summer, Russia will control 75% to 80% of Kostisntynivka and then get bogged down for months in a situation similar to Toretsk for the last 20% to 25%.
That assessment may be too optimistic for Russia after the false capture claim on 3 July. We are already seeing indications that Russian resources are being somewhat limited now.
We do not believe this will turn into another Kupiansk for Russia. Kostisntynivka will be captured, but the when is still months away.

I share his conclusions on the state of the Russian offensive in the Houlialpole sector.
The number of Russian airstrikes has dropped from 500 every 10 days in May, to 350 in June, and fewer than 200 currently. The slowdown in the sector has actually been visible for several months, with the failure of the westward offensive.
This failure is explained by the inability to seize control of Ukrainian fortified positions on the western outskirts of Houlialpole, particularly along the railway line. Moreover, the terrain is unfavorable to the Russians, who must cross a river, then an anti-tank ditch and barbed wire. The Ukrainians, meanwhile, hold the high ground and control Ternuvate, which offers a clear view over part of the area.
Russian buildup capacity is very limited, with mainly Houlialpole (the town has been so razed that its value has largely diminished), whose logistical routes are constantly under Ukrainian fire. Russian infiltrations, particularly by flag-bearers who must carry out suicide missions so that command can continue lying to Moscow, have yielded nothing; none of the infiltrated villages is under Russian control.
In parallel, the Ukrainians have complicated the Russians' task with their own infiltrations (one could even speak of control in certain areas) north of Houlialpole, reducing the window of opportunity for launching infiltrations. The small town of Uspenivka is facing a Ukrainian push from both sides.
That said, one cannot claim that the Russian offensive is completely over. While there have been no gains for several months, the sector further south (white arrows) has seen more sustained progress.
In total, it's the entire southern front, 175 km long, where the Russian situation is not optimal. The rapid advance of 2025 (45 km westward) has not continued into 2026, while the threat to Zaporizhzhia has been reduced. The Ukrainians even hold the advantage over half of this southern front. The topic being this geographical area, there's no point in asking me when Kostiantynivka will fall (as usual, that will be the subject of 50 comments here); I wrote this a month ago: "It will still take many long months before total control. We are still at the infiltration stage and no neighborhood is under Russian control." The situation has, as expected, deteriorated, with a stronger Russian presence, but the city is not under Russian control.

1 U.S. gallon = 3.785 liters
330 × 3.785 = 1,249.05 rubles - $16.30 US gallon

in addition to the tourism, it appears that the entire Crimean economy is collapsing
In Crimea, due to a severe fuel shortage, power outages, and a logistical collapse, the largest greenhouse operation in the peninsula has ceased operations – the "Belogorsky" greenhouse complex. This was reported by Krym.Realii.
The enterprise, which specializes in growing cucumbers and flowers, is currently not producing any products.
"The enterprise was unable to function under the current conditions of severe fuel and electricity shortages, and logistical difficulties. The staff has been disbanded, and only administrative personnel and security remain. The remaining products were distributed free of charge to employees of local government institutions, and the flower seedlings were given to local municipal enterprises.
The cessation of production at the "Belogorsky" greenhouse complex, one of the key enterprises in the region, is a serious blow to the regional economy. More than 400 people were employed there, producing over 10,000 tons of cucumbers and growing more than 5 million flowers per year," said a local activist.
Previously, in the Belogorsky district, several other enterprises also ceased operations for the same reasons.

And so what?
Russia decided to invade Ukrsine. Ukraine had two choices, fight their enemy or surrender and be subjugated.
By putting up such a strong fight Ukraine has given themselves a chance. A chance to be free if Russia in some form or another.
