“Since Congress would not allow Trump to exit NATO, occupying Greenland could force the Europeans to abandon NATO. If Trump wants to end NATO, this might be the most convenient way to do it.”

“If we don’t do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland, and we’re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.”

Trump then took things one step further as he added: “So we’re going to be doing something with Greenland, either the nice way or the more difficult way.”

Overlooking the fact that we do, already, have Russia as a neighbor (Sarah Palin should've told him...)

Russia or China will take over Greenland"

That makes me think that he does indeed see a world where the U.S., Russia and China are the three superpowers dominating their own hemispheres...

and it's even stranger that he thinks Russia, in their current state, are going to be in any position to conquer Europe and defeat NATO...

Why do you think he said that specific thing?

Reuters: UK, Germany discuss NATO forces in Greenland to calm US threat, Bloomberg News reports

A group of European countries, led by Britain and Germany, is discussing plans to boost their military presence in Greenland to show U.S. President Donald Trump that the continent is serious about Arctic security, Bloomberg News reported on Sunday.

Germany will propose setting up a joint NATO mission to protect the Arctic region, the Bloomberg report added, citing people familiar with the plans.

UK seeks to develop ballistic missiles for Ukraine capable of reaching Moscow – Reuters

KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO — 11 January, 23:29

The United Kingdom plans to develop a new ballistic missile for Ukraine, known as Nightfall, with a range of over 500 kilometres.

Source: Reuters; The Sun, citing UK Defence Secretary John Healey

Details: According to Reuters, the UK government said on 11 January that it will develop a new long-range ballistic missile for Ukraine to support the country's military efforts in the war against Russia.

Under the project, codenamed Nightfall, the UK government has announced a competition for the rapid development of ground-launched ballistic missiles capable of carrying a 200 kg (440 lb) warhead over a distance of more than 500 km (310 miles).

Meanwhile, The Sun reported that Healey had confirmed the planned project for Ukraine.

The Nightfall missiles are expected to be capable of being launched quickly from vehicles. Their range would allow them to reach targets as far away as Moscow if fired from Ukrainian territory.

UK companies are being offered a £9 million contract to design, develop and deliver the first three missiles for test launches.

Not a good start... does anyone in Hungary even know who this guy is? Hell, I didn't even know. Steven Seagal would have been better but they don't have a video lens wide enough to get him into the frame...

Started Jan. 01. Long overdue but these kinds of actions were not possible until Russian became as weak as it is today.

Edited as the original Euromaidan article has been taken down ( ). Here's a link to a related video -

quote:

Moldova and Ukraine now coordinate their border systems, so people or goods can only move if both sides allow it, closing gaps that once existed. Moldovan control of airspace blocks any air deliveries into Transnistria, while rail and road traffic is stopped unless it meets strict customs rules. In simple terms, Transnistria is no longer a free passage zone, but a tightly controlled area where outside support is difficult and visible.
quote:

Ukraine and Moldova have now jointly enacted a full blockade against Transnistria, marking a clear policy shift, by closing all crossings and applying customs and security controls to everything moving in or out of the region. At midnight on January first, Ukraine began enacting strict controls along the roughly 450-kilometer border with Transnistria, requiring inspections for any permitted movement of goods or people.
quote:

This begins with political isolation, as the separatist leadership loses outside contacts and the freedom to act on its own. The blockade also cuts logistics, because around fifteen hundred Russian troops depend on steady access to fuel, equipment, and daily supplies. For years, much of this support moved through informal trade routes, friendly businesses, and loose customs checks that avoided full Moldovan control. By shutting these routes down, Moldova and Ukraine make Russia’s presence harder to sustain and far less effective as a tool of pressure near the European Union.

It's hilarious when people with the view that Trump is just a big dumb idiot also put out that he might be doing Machiavellian-esque schemes like this

Putting America first doesn’t mean taking over Greenland or Canada.

Especially now that things in Washington. California and Minnesota are out of control.

Nobody is taking over Greenland or Canada.

I really like how America isn’t helping Ukraine much though. America First
