Russian troops handcuffed to trees and left for dead after defying orders
Russian soldiers were handcuffed to trees and left to die after defying orders to advance into Ukrainian territory, video footage recorded near the front line claims.
The four soldiers, abandoned without food or water, were found by Ukrainian troops in the strategically vital zone near Lyman, which separates the opposing sides in Donetsk.
It is understood the group had been abandoned by their commanders because they refused to advance again after the remainder of their unit was killed attempting to gain ground.
A man speaking in the video, identified as Ilya Sergeyevich Gorkov of Russia’s 36th Motorised Rifle Regiment, claimed his group had been left for four days.
Speaking with his arms tied around a tree trunk, he said they had been abandoned with “no food, no water, nothing, and they won’t take us anywhere to the toilet”.

Imagine getting so triggered and emotional over a country you supposedly don't even live in

The blue shows what has been taken back PERIOD. Same as other mapping. ISW is slow to make changes to the front, even when Ukraine was taking back territory. They err on the side of caution to do this. Gen Keane is also an advisor to Trump directly and Trump did try to hire him in the White House during his first term. He has made many trips to Mar A Lago between 2022 and 2024.
Despite what cretins like Bolton have said, Trump likes to get more than one opinion on things. He's NOT averse to respectful criticism behind closed doors. Our own Sen/ Kennedy has stated that Trump personally invites difference of information based on facts.
IMO, I seriously doubt that Tulsi has any influence in the administration like some seem to think.

Why does zelensky need Tomahawks? I thought they had already started production on therr own long range missiles, there were several posts in this thread about it.

That’s a thing about when your country has been invaded and another country’s invading army is killing your people, you want any and every available weapon to repel the invaders.
That is a reasonable position for Zelenskyy to take.

Trump says no to Tomahawks for Zelenskyy, prioritises diplomacy – Axios, CNN
Olha Hlushchenko — 18 October, 02:50
US President Donald Trump has informed his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a tense meeting on Friday 17 October that he does not intend to provide long-range Tomahawk missiles, at least for now, as he considers diplomacy a priority.
Source: Axios; CNN citing sources familiar with the Trump-Zelenskyy meeting
Details: Axios noted that Zelenskyy had hoped to leave Washington with promises of new weapons for Ukraine, but it turned out that Trump was in a very different mood the day after a lengthy phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
According to Axios sources, Trump made it clear that his priority at present is diplomacy and he believes that providing Tomahawks could undermine it.
One source said the meeting "was not easy", while another called it "bad".
Quote from one Axios source: "Nobody shouted, but Trump was tough."
Quote from another Axios source: "Trump gave several strong statements during the meeting and at some points it got a bit emotional."
Details: Axios added that the meeting had abruptly ended after two and a half hours.
"I think we're done. Let's see what happens next week," Trump said, referring to planned US-Russian negotiations.
In addition, one CNN source noted that Trump apparently feels Ukraine seeks escalation and prolongation of the war and he is concerned about potential losses during the upcoming harsh winter.
Previously: Zelenskyy also stated at the briefing that the Ukrainian and American sides had decided not to speak publicly about long-range systems for now, adding that the United States does not want escalation. In addition, he said that the "Russians are afraid of Tomahawks" as a combination of weapon systems that Kyiv could receive from the United States.

Z would take nukes if we would give him and that's totally smart from his end.
Unfortunately for him his country just isn't important enough, and if it were we would have given him the top cuts of weaponry years ago.

Back when Trump was still considering sending tomahawks, I think that what was likely to happen was that Trump was simply going to give you Ukraine enough to take out the big Shahed/Geran drone factory.
Those drones have terrorized ordinary Ukrainian civilians and been responsible for innumerable war crimes. Giving Ukraine the means to take that factory out would be a humanitarian gesture that would save the lives of countless innocent civilians.
But it's moot for now.

Like clockwork, click on this thread and see page after page of attacks on the people who want this to end......its a sure sign ukraine is getting its arse kicked.
Does this sound like winning, does this sound like what the people of ukraine "voted" for.
Maybe instead of boasting about blowing up a gas station a 1000 miles away they should focus on keeping the frickin lights on at home.

Emergency power outages have been brought in across almost all of Ukraine after a intensive campaign of Russian air strikes on energy infrastructure.
This will be the fourth consecutive winter of blackouts throughout Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
The energy ministry said all but two regions were affected. Only the eastern Donetsk region at the forefront of the war is exempt, while the northern Chernihiv region is already facing hourly outages.
As well as targeting the power network, Russia has increasingly targeted Ukraine's railways

Some of them think they are clever and are trying to bait me into saying something that could get me banned, since they have a history of running to mods when someone triggers them.
The only problem there is I'm laughing at them
My opinions are actually fairly moderate compared to your average PT poster. These people are just extremists, or far too emotional on the topic.

They don't want to hear what is actually happening, they want to hear good news for Ukraine so they can delude themselves into thinking Ukraine's position is better than it actually is.
