There are two possible valuations:
1) What is the resource value of the resources sitting in the ground
2) What is the resource value after extraction?
They have to extract the minerals to get any payback. Given the current state of the infrastructure, destroyed cities, depopulation of the areas, and general state of the Russian economy, it's going to be a heavy lift for them to get any kind of short-term payback from the minerals.
The most likely scenario is that they will sell the rights to mine them to China and take a portion of the extraction.

It's safe to assume that all of this is known to me and everyone else on the board. The US didn't start sending satellite intel for deep strikes until a few months ago.
I don't think that any in the public sphere really knows how many Tomahawks the US has in storage. How many are at or near end of life for US purposes?
I have no doubt that many are over 2 decades, if not 3 decades old with older guidance systems from 1993

Didn’t we purchase some of the mineral rights from Ukraine?

How is AU a Putin apologist? And how is that relevant to me?

The real threat is US satellite recon for targeting by Ukraine built drones and cruise missiles.
Did you get that from Ben Hodges and Times Radio?

Putin wanted a meeting.
Sorta proves my point.
Meeting = No Tomahawks or Miss Lindsey sanctions while this all plays out.
It is evident that Trump doesn't exactly want to commit to either at this point. He may have to eventually but committing to Tomahawk is a whole other ballgame. See Germany and Taurus missiles- their inventory is a joke.
Can the US provide 2000 tomahawks? The US has a little over 4000 currently in inventory.
2000 missiles gone: The Navy's tomahawk missile nightmare
Same song and dance: Production capacity and replacement time. And that includes land launched Tomahawks.
The author is not exactly a Russian pundit. Just reality.
I don't blame Trump for trying but does anyone believe that Z or Putin will make any concessions to actually end this?

Russia has hit Ukraine for two years with hundreds of long range drones and 50-60 long range missiles on many nights. That is per night when it happens. And little old Ukraine still hasn't surrendered.
Even if Trump gave Ukraine 150 Tomahawks who thinks that will make Russia quit? Many of those would be possibly shot down.
How many Tomahawks would it take to make Putin say I quit?
Anyone who gives an alternative view to the delusion is a Putin apologist I guess.
I pray that Trump is successful in stopping this war but I don't see it happening yet. I hope that I am wrong.

I asked for examples on what terms Trump gave Putin specifically, he gave none.
I bet he will have no examples of you being a Putin apologist either. Just like libs who call everyone they disagree with a Nazi, its just buzzwords with no meaning at this point.

CRASH! Russian Urals oil plunges below $50/barrel for the first time since spring 2025, hitting $47.4 in Primorsk—below the EU’s $47.6 price cap! Global Brent down 15% to $60 amid Israel-Hamas ceasefire easing Mideast tensions. Russia’s budget, banking on $58/barrel, faces a $150B+ revenue hit in 2025, slashing 21% of oil income already. How is stating reality (something that you are in denial of because of emotions) taking up for Putin?
You gonna call for me to get banned like everyone else that doesn't spew the company line?

Not really, I literally disagreed with him on something within the last page or two of this thread
So every time you get pissy because I say something to Citizen or whoever else and feel the need to jump in, you are therefore acting as their wingman right?

If I recall it right, the older Tomahawks all used terrain mapping for navigation which means they are immune to GPS spoofing.
