Trump: "Not perfect timing" to impose new sanctions on Russia
Ivan Diakonov — 17 October, 01:24
US President Donald Trump has said that now is not the best time to impose new sanctions against Russia, as it could complicate or even derail his planned meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Source: Trump during a press conference at the White House on 16 October; The Associated Press
Details: While a bill is awaiting approval in the US Senate to introduce high tariffs on countries that buy Russian energy and other goods, Trump expressed doubts about the appropriateness of such measures in the near future.
"I'm not against anything. I'm just saying, it may not be perfect timing," he said.
Trump emphasised during the press conference that he is currently focused on creating favourable conditions for a personal meeting with Putin in Hungary, likely within the next two weeks.
He believes the upcoming meeting could help bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Senate is awaiting Trump's approval of a bill that would impose high tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil, gas, uranium and other exports in order to deliver a serious economic blow to Moscow.
Although the US president has not yet formally endorsed the measure and Republican leaders do not plan to advance it without his approval, the White House has recently shown increasing interest in the bill behind the scenes. Senate Majority Leader John Thune said on Thursday that senators would consider the legislation "in the next 30 days".
According to two officials familiar with discussions between the White House and the Senate, administration representatives are already studying the bill in detail, suggesting editorial changes and technical adjustments. Capitol Hill sees this as a sign that Trump is beginning to take the initiative more seriously.
"This may be such a productive call that we're going to end up... We want to get peace," Trump said, adding that the final decision on sanctions rests with him.

Trump has thrown the Ukraine Firsters another curveball. Plus he has their favorite European politician and Trump friend Viktor Orban hosting.
Trump is a master. Cope is melting again.
Another Putin meeting means:
No Miss Lindsey sanctions
No Tomahawks- like 25-50 missiles were going to change anything anyways.
But General Bill assured us he is more hawkish than Dementia Joe.
Suckers.

Putin can't keep playing rope-a-dope with Trump forever though.
Eventually he is going to have to actually give something, or Trump will get mad and probably do more than even sanctions and Tomahawks.

Putin has played this perfectly so far.
Z has his work cut out for him today.
Trump the Hawk is once again Trump the Dove.

Putin has played this perfectly so far.
He started a war (which he was too dishonest to even call a war) that his press secretary, Peskov, said would be over in 3 days, then 5 days, then 3 weeks and yet, here we are 3 3/4 YEARS later and Russia controls less of Ukraine today than it did after the first month of fighting.
If that's "perfectly" I'd really like to see what "shitty" looks like...

It is going to be glorious!! Trump can extend his endorsement of Viktor once again to boost him to another election victory. Kill two birds with one stone!!

The real threat is US satellite recon for targeting by Ukraine built drones and cruise missiles.
Trump said out loud that he was going to send 2000 Tomahawks to Ukraine suddenly, Putin wanted a meeting.
Stop buying what is sold on Napolitano and Diesen similar YouTube channels, which all feature Ritter the Pedo as a regular guest.

They have been helping Ukraine with long range strikes by providing that info for months. There was a report about that within the past week.
Someone who prides themselves on having been in this thread since the beginning should have known that.

Everyone knows he isn't sending 2,000 tomahawks
There is actually pushback from the military on sending any at all at this point because they say we need them apparently. I've seen the number of platforms thrown around that we might send at 6.

Yes, it has been over 3-1/2 years and he’s only suffered a million casualties. His economy is coming unglued and he’s used up most of his reserve military ammo.
The Black Sea fleet is either on the bottom or gone. Russian presence in the Mediterranean Sea is just about gone.
Over the past year he’s rolled over about 1% of Ukraine. Successes are measured in villages and buildings.
It couldn’t be going any better for Putin.

What is 25% of Ukraine worth in land, minerals/oil reserves?

Putin is missing every opportunity to stop the war that Trump had given him; yet Putin continued to play games and kick the can road while making Trump look bad.
Is this what you call “perfection” because in my opinion the longer the war goes the worse it is for both sides? I do not.

He already controlled 10%, and he took 10% more after destroying much of that. Thd 25% figure is false.
At the of this someone is going to need to spend a lot of money to fix what had been destroyed, or the land is practically worthless.

Neither Russia nor China has the technology for the tight shale reserves to be tapped. The coal mines received more subsidies than the profit of coal sold.

What did those opportunities entail for Putin, specifically? What does he get? What does he give up?
