I just watched Trump say that he prevented WWIII... that the Russian-Ukrainian War was headed towards a World War before he stopped it.

Right. That's what he says. And polling inside Ukraine shows that the Ukrainians are becoming exhausted by the war and are open to giving up some land for it to stop.
The problem, however, is Putin. He's told hundreds of lies concerning this war alone and is, once again, dangling a false peace in front of everyone in exchange for a chunk of a country that isn't his. Once he gets it it's confirmed his instincts about the west and then it's wash, rinse, repeat, or promise peace to get something and then keep on fighting.
The good news is that Zelinsky and the Ukrainians are too smart for that, so the fighting is going to continue. I mean, it's going to continue anyway, it's just not going to include a gift of hundreds of thousands of square miles of selling out to a dictator in the middle of it.

In all fairness the seized Russian funds can be used. Russia has auctioned off Ukrainian property in occupied territory as a precedent Let Putin scream like a stuck pig at the unfairness
