What's their reasoning. Can those landowners not tell the militia to stay off their property just like they would illegals?

I would invite every lawnmower manufacturer to open a showroom on my property near the border. This way, the illegals could learn the benefits of each model they will be using while cutting grass in Atlanta.

To be fair I would likely rather have a hungry MFer looking for work than some self deluded fatass Billy Bob with an AR walking around my yard as well.
Joe Sixpack needs to stay away from this because they 100% are going to get unwarranted media attention and cause more problems than they can solve, they are either going to shoot the wrong person or get fricked up themselves.

But some see the move as a negative, arguing that the armed civilians' presence would add even more tension should there be a confrontation.
Let’s recap.
One side is basically word for word the second amendment.
The other is an illegal band of aliens storming a sovereign nations borders.
This writer picked the wrong fricking side.

Then tell him to get off your lawn. He has to adhere to the law also. Have him arrested for trespassing.

IMO any land within 300 yards of the border should already be Federal Property, with usage rights allotted to local farmers.

talking point was that a wall was stupid because 99% of illegals don’t cross over the border

They don't want the liability issues. The border is a really strange place, unfortunately, many of the landowners have become numb to illegal immigration. Hell, even the high fence ranches put ladders over the fences so the illegals won't cut the fences and let the deer out. It's a different world down there.

I knew some guys that would do this. They had a spotlight from an Abrams tank mounted in the back of a truck along with a little red light. They would turn the red light on to get the illegals to look at it then flip on the spotlight and blind the shite out of them

Maybe so, I have a friend who lives on the other side of the fence and it is still US soil. His house actually burned to the ground because the Fire Department tried to go through the wrong gate access. They post signs around sugar cane farms 3 days before they burn the cane. They also get someone on a loud-speaker telling everyone to get out of the fields in Spanish. The local Mexican Americans HATE the immigrants much more than the white landowners.

This is how we will build the wall

It is my land, because it's American soil. Now, I don't own the land, but this is my country and this is an invasion on our southern border.

Then they are a problem to the solution. Shame on them. Sounds like aiding and abetting to a criminal activity. Actually it is.

You can agree or disagree, personally IDGAF either way. I'm just telling you how it REALLY is. Until there is a legitimate wall or significant border protection ALONG WITH FINES FOR HIRING ILLEGALS nothing will change. If a rancher spent his time chasing illegals he would be bankrupt in a year.

horseshite. I've seen this talking point spouted dozens of times online.

I wish I was a teacher so I had the time to help them go defend the border

Settle down. I'm not saying you support what they're doing, I'm saying they are wrong about their attitude. I don't expect them "to chase" illegals all year and go broke but their cavalier attitude about illegals is disturbing - "I'll let them pass and then they can be someone else's problem" is a little messed up. I'd at least call the law and then be satisfied that I had done my part about the problem.
