Not a really good comparison but
To drive a car, you are required to have a driver's license and car insurance. Are you not going to attempt to get both in 45 years and figure out what you need to do to get them or are you just going to drive for 45 years hoping that you never get pulled over, never roll up to a DUI checkpoint, etc...?
