Can ya imagine Christmas or hanukkah being so obscure that when talking about them... one has to always mention the history of them, in order to make people remember what they are?
I understand that people celebrate it, and that's fine if it works for them. I just don't understand the existence of kwanzaa. There are probably a lot of legit holidays or important days across the African continent. Instead of utilizing one of those, kwanzaa was created. I mean... think about it. Legit African culture is shunned for an American created faux African holiday.

If you have to explain the holiday then it’s not a real thing.
So pretty much every holiday then?

Seems like it is to create more segregation. Thought people were against that.

Sounds like a great neighborhood.

No one needs racism, much less at Christmas time. Christmas is for all races and nationalities. Africans don't even celebrate kuwanza

The only people I’ve ever met who care about Kwanzaa are university professors and community activists and even then it seemed very superficial.

It's about black joy, black unity.
Yea, the creator is a wackjob, but it is about unity for black people.
Again, imagine a white supremacist creating a holiday to celebrate white joy and unity. That would be shot down as racist so fast.

You know an effective centerpiece for any Presidential race in 2024 by any candidate of any party would be "Americans first--before race, before gender, before perversions, before religious affiliations, ect". I think most people of any race or party are tired of identity politics and shite like Kwanzaa and preferred pronouns and the Marines doing away with "sir".

If it were real, Hallmark channel would be running Kwanzaa movies 24/7. They aren't, it isn't.

Yeah, because some dude made it up in the 60s as an alternative to Christianity.
Maulana Karenga was a violent thug who was rewarded with a professorship at one of the University of California branches for his brilliance and humanitarian work.

Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Miss Davis' mouth and placed against Miss Davis' face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga, head of US, also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said. They also were hit on the heads with toasters.
