On Billboard: No. The current #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 is "Aperture" by Harry Styles (for the week of February 7) or "Choosin' Texas" by Ella Langley (for the week of February 14).

While Kid Rock is crushing it in digital sales (people buying the song for $1.29), the Billboard Hot 100 factors in massive amounts of streaming data from platforms like Spotify and YouTube. Because younger audiences and pop fans stream in much higher volumes, artists like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars typically maintain the top spots on the "official" national chart, even if a veteran artist like Kid Rock is selling more individual copies in a single week.

Eat shite goose-stepper.

He is #1 in digital sales. That is a fact. It is a metric for that platform.

SW gave the claim proper context.

You are such a whiny bitch.

I’m no fan of big bunny - but this is BS. It takes about $3000 to get your song at the top of that iTunes sales chart. That’s how the ai songs are doing it. The artist spends 3 grand and can the say they are top of the chart. That chart is worthless no one buys music anymore

Being #1 in digital sales in 2025 is like leading the ringtone charts or topping the CD rack at Walmart. Technically impressive, just not where the actual audience lives anymore.

But congrats to Kid Rock regardless. I’ve never been a big fan of his music, but less than a month into the Iraq invasion in 2003 he was the first performer in theater doing USO shows before we even had hot showers or air conditioned tents (brutal in the Iraqi desert), and he’ll always have my respect and sincere gratitude for that.
