You went back to 2014. Yes, cops do stupid shite allllll the time. I would say of the 1000s of interactions an hour with police their are 5-10 of em that are complete bullshite. The cases in court or better yet, the media, for the most part, are not the ones that people should be basing their opinion

but you trust that the witnesses who said the police did not announce their presence are being truthful? just asking where you people are drawing lines so i can know where the special pleading starts
There was no reason to be beating in the door at midnight over some low level drug peddler. Jesus. If there is more to it, they needed to be transparent much sooner.

Come on, you think that's a one-off? It's a small minority that would do that, I hope, but how do I know which kind I'm dealing with? I don't.

I agree. I base my opinion on what they say and actual facts/video that gets captured.

This was a tragic accident, and if the MSM had reported it this way from the beginning we wouldn't have all of these riots.
All of the unrest here is caused by fake news.

Idk how many times I have read this in different threads. Breonna Taylor's ex bf was the drug dealer. Walker is a licensed gun owner. With a ccw permit. You don't get that if your a convicted felon. Also he did not shoot the cop through the door as I have read in other threads.
Yes, Breonna Taylor's EX was the a drug dealer but Breonna Taylor's home was still being used as the package drop address for the drug dealer. The drug dealer had recently used Breonna Taylor's rental car to pick up and deliver drugs. Even though Breonna Taylor was screwing a different guy, she continued to have these associations with the drug dealer. Her home had been under surveillance and all this activity continued. The warrant was not a no-knock warrant. The police identified themselves prior to crashing through the door, confirmed by witnesses. The new boyfriend fired first on the cops. What else would you expect to happen?

I have a handgun.
I also have an LTC.
IF I SELL DRUGS, I WOULD BE A DRUG DEALER.

Why was there a dead body in the trunk of Breonna's rental car in 2016? #SayHisName #FernandezBowman

all of this is a separate issue from the actual raid. totally different and it's sad that people are conflating the two because their emotions are getting in the way of the facts.
people are not looting/rioting because of clerical errors. they are going berserk because an innocent, unarmed harmless dove of a black person was hunted down and killed merely for being black (according to them). and then rubes itt are siding with these clowns.
i'll ask yet again, if you think the police acted illegitimately during the raid, present your evidence. otherwise, the raid (no knock, announcement, who shot first, drug connections, etc) is not an issue and people are yet again rioting due to ignorance.
The riots and looting are likewise a wholly separate issue from any discussion about the efficacy of these dark-of-night, home invasions tactics used by LEO in this never-ending War on Drugs®. And just because something is legal does not make it legitimate.
While these dynamic forced-entry raids are legal, they are wholly illegitimate and an assault on Constitutional due process. No matter where you stand on whether the police acted properly in this particular case, the outcome here demonstrates that these types of raids recklessly endanger both civilians and LEO.
These types of raids should only be used in the most extreme situations when innocent life is in imminent danger. Rand Paul’s effort to end no-knock raids should be a cause that all people concerned about Constitutional due process should support.
LINK ]Rand Paul Introduces ‘Justice For Breonna Taylor Act’ Banning No-Knock Warrants.....
quote:
On Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced a bill that would prohibit law enforcement officers from forcing entry into homes without announcing themselves first. The proposed legislation, which is known as the “Justice for Breonna Taylor Act,” is a two-page bill that would essentially outlaw no-knock warrants.
The bill is named after Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old former EMT who was killed by police officers who attempted to forcibly enter her home while serving a no-knock warrant. After her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker allegedly fired a shot at the officers, believing they were burglars, the officers fired 20 shots into the apartment, eight of which struck Taylor, killing her instantly.
The draft of the bill reads, “State or local law enforcement agency that receive funds from the Department of Justice during the fiscal year may not execute a warrant that does not require the law enforcement officer serving the warrant to provide notice of his or her authority and purpose before forcibly entering a premises.”
As the debate over addressing police reform rages, it seems that some are already taking action to decrease the number of preventable deaths that occur due to interactions with the police. The statistics regarding the practice don’t paint a positive picture. Police are authorized to conduct over 20,000 no-knock raids each year. In 65% of these raids, no contraband has been found.
Given the fact that the practice is dangerous for both civilians and police officers, it seems likely that other local governments might follow suit regardless of how Paul’s proposal fares in Congress. Perhaps we will see some major changes in the use of this tactic in the near future....

One thing I read was that Walker admitted that the cops knocked and identified themselves but, given the time, he thought it was a rival drug dealer pretending to be cops and that's why he started shooting.
I have seen nothing that indicates Walker has said that. I would think the AG would have included that in his presser if so.

Those aren’t “clerical errors.” That’s willful lying to get a warrant.
I agree the racist accusations are stupid. I do think that the differences in culture aren’t zero and may have contributed to the cops view of Taylor.
