Trans movement is never going away until Gay Marriage is reversed. If you support this marriage then you support the Trans movement. They overlap and are mostly the same.
Time for Trump to reverse this. They can have a unionship. Man and woman create life. It's time to protect the backbone of this country...the traditional family.
I'm against promoting or even normalizing trans stuff, and am strongly against it being anywheren ear children, but this is really dumb.
Being anti-gay, something people can't even control is how it becomes easy for you to be labeled as one of the baddies. We should be pro personal freedom and choices. Separation of church and state. no churches should be required to marry gays but the government should be completely neutral. The government shouldn't GAF if you're gay or not. Just leave the kids alone.
At the private sector level we should be pushing back against all the gay crap they push, for sure. Government is just a different animal and we should be pro freedom.

Civil marriage is not tied to any religion.
quote:Currently, yes. I’m not talking about civil vs religious, though. I’m talking about the word “marriage”.
And your religious marriage cannot be sanctioned as such by the state.

How about we keep the government out of our lives. If you are a true conservative you want limited government not more. I’m not a trans fan but part of the problem is local state and federal agencies propping them up with DEI etc. Just get the government out of our lives all together.

I wouldn't argue we enforce the laws of the Bible either as that would get pretty ridiculous too....don't be mixing your fabrics out there children....

That would be political suicide.

Nope, get the government out of the marriage business. It will have no effect of churches having ceremonies or sacraments.

Yes, the government has no business redefining a religious institution like marriage.
I’m conservative not libertarian.

Time to send it back to the states.
I'm not pro Gay Marriage, I think Marriage is between a man, a woman and God. If God doesn't acknowledge it then the government had no more ability to call two men married than to call a cat a dog.
But, by the laws of this country and the 10th amendment, this is squarely a States Rights issue.
Just because people want federal fishing licenses doesn't mean it's constitutional.
The constitution overrides my beliefs and your beliefs. We can vote on the laws at the state level.
You vote your conscious I vote mine.

Why just two? Why adults, and what defines an adult?
You have no problem enforcing a definition for marriage on people who may disagree with you. You're no different than people who think it's between a man and a woman, you just have another definition.
Just what the frick?
Why just two? Good question. I guess I really don't give a shite. But that whole poly-amory movement thing just sounds dumb. But you do you. Seems to me though, a marriage is a contractual Union of two parties. If more parties are involved, I'm not sure what implications that makes legally? I really don't care, but I think your being purposely obtuse just to troll.
Why adults, and what defines an adult? This is dumb, and I won't even answer this, if you're truly dumb enough to ask.
You have no problem enforcing a definition for marriage on people who may disagree with you. I'm not enforcing shite.
You're no different than people who think it's between a man and a woman, you just have another definition. More dumb shite. I'm literally, different because my stance is literally different. And my stance is, I don't have a definition -- let people do what they want with regards to the contract of marriage. As long as they are consenting adults.
Posted on 1/21/25 at 8:17 pm to ctiger69
If we are going to accept that words mean things, and that marriage is a man and woman, I don’t see a problem with civil unions. Yes, they are different, because same-sex people aren’t “married“.

Conflating gay marriage to the trans movement lets everyone know the type of idiot you are and why you can’t be taken seriously in the modern world.
ETA. Some of frickers are begging for the return of a Biden redux but worse..

Not at all.
Support for homosexual “marriage” is barely at 50% and is falling.

Maybe not.
But I certainly understand the difference between a parameter and a definition.

Not likely to happen. The Supreme Court has spoken, and I don’t think this court would overturn it.

Marriage means absolutely nothing in modern society. If couples want to enter into legal contracts let them do that. No more government sanctioned marriage. It’s over and done. The government destroys everything it touches. It’s best to leave it to churches or private contracts between couples.

The depravity of gay, was used whether you agree or not, to push the depravity of trans and pedo crap. They will not stop until anything goes. Gay marriage should not be sanctioned by any state, much less America.

Separate church and state and call them what they are. Civil unions. Gov has no ppace dictating what religions are forced to practice.

Yeah, me either (now).
