I get that. Just thinking if it was me, I'd be very anxious about letting a big one through. It would weigh on me the rest of my life.

Some things I say sarcastically especially when I see an opportunity to apply the very same standard against one who abused it in order for that one to learn how harmful their action was.

I would love to see FISA ended right now. But I would laugh out loud if it were used to cause problems for certain dems just before shutting it down.

That sort of thinking leads good people thinking they're doing good things to do bad things.

If the tool is that important then it damn sure needs WAY more safeguards than currently exist. It can still be abused just like it was against Trump.

You lost me before I finished the first sentence.

The FBI DID NOT use a fisa warrant to spy on Trump's campaign. They spied on Trumps campaign, all those around him THEN GOT A RETRO ACTIVE TWO STEP FISA WARRANT to cover their arse. Which was slid under the door and rubber stamped in half the time in normally takes and then the people who applied for it suddenly quit and took cushy jobs elsewhere.

Im reminded of the "footnote" in the investigation of the FBI. "We could make new rules and regulations.......but if they are not following those already in place, what good will new ones do?".

Bless your hearts and all this hand wringing over FISA. There was no FISA for over 50 years of spying on Americans before it was "invented". And FISA did not stop them from spying on Americans. And if it was removed it wont stop the spying.

It will stop when you throw people, and FISA judges for knowingly using it to spy on citizens for nefarious reasons, in prison.

By the way, gun control does not stop people from killing, putting people in prison stops them from killing.

Sure. Trump in his first term complained openly about FISA secret courts. He spoke out and was a lobbyist in meetings against it.

Trying to negotiate it out. Then turtle and gang closed ranks and went under a spell. Complete BS, of course saying it will be reformed to guarantee no abuses.

I give you credit, you were the first one on here trashing him while people like me thought he would dismantle the deep state.

The intelligence community acts under the direction of the executive. He can kill FISA with a tweet.

As does Ka$h. If Trump didn't want FISA Ka$h wouldn't be defending it.

“ the democrats will abuse immediately without a thought.”(quote CA).

100%. Just like they will ditch the Filibuster and wreak havoc.

Sidenote: heard that Thune is considering Recess if Save Act is not passed. Old boy feeling the heat. Not that that will matter if the Dems are allowed to keep their illegal/fraudulent votes.

Touche' then he would be JFKed and or impeached and removed without USSS protections..

So essentially JFKed is the complete answer.

They will protect the beast as long as the devils are there to protect it.

ETA: The news would be 24/7 Trump risks our national security and he broke his oath of office and shall be removed...

Who cares. News promotes mostly negative coverage of him anyway. Are you saying he should govern based on what's popular with the media?

What's the pt of lobbying for change, and when in a position to make change, you don't because of muh fear?

The head of the NSA went to the fisa court and told them the FBI was doing 10s of thousands of queries on the NSA system with no oversight, and no warrant, with consultants who had no clearance, and the court did nothing.

I always wonder if thats not part of the blackmail in DC. Those consultants, paid by the dems and then given the keys to pandora's box. Im sure they collected info on Trump as directed.......and every dem, republican, judge, department head, and ex girlfriend.....for future consulting "fees".

Heck when this all came out obama said, okay we will just let each department deem who can spy.....and removed the NSA from controlling their own database.

I say again, bad people do bad things, with or without a FISA system it makes no difference what guardrails you put in place if they go unpunished.
