that's a modern narrative. irish, italian, and german immigrants weren't considered white americans back then, and they weren't around when the nation was founded. HP Lovecraft and many others said nasty things about them.
those groups are considered white today because they assimilated and were accepted. the students at UT are working hard, studying, doing well in school, and enjoying an american past time. they're trying to assimilate, and you wouldn't be this angry if they were white european kids enjoying a football game, despite their ancestors not building the nation

I'm from Texas, so I know all about the Texas and Texas A&M auto acceptance system. But outside of that, let's not pretend that college acceptance is some pure mathematical formula with no subjective bias thumbing the scales.
It can benefit different people, but to call getting accepted into a college an "actual meritocracy" is naive, in most cases.

Asians are the population most discriminated against in college acceptance, especially at elite schools.
They dominate and get over-represented and you see the reacts that we have the past few days.
That's why Harvard and other institutions were sued over their racist policies.

Texas does have up to 10 percent international students, so that's still a lot of people. There is no way to actually know if the students in the photo are international of not. I'm sure it's a mixture.
Either way, I think that it was magnified because they probably all sit in a section together, as many groups do. So, there are lot of them there, but not as many as the photo makes it seem like.

The frustration (at least to me) isn’t this particular picture or scenario on its own but an accumulation of this plus Muslims and illegals taking over cities. It doesn’t help that it’s also just a few days after the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
The white people are always the ones getting called racist, but that’s largely because there aren’t a hell of a lot of white people moving to places like India and Somalia to give the local population opportunities to be racist or discriminatory. If Mumbai and Mogadishu had white Christian mayors (like NYC and London have Muslim mayors) due to mass immigration, there are a lot of natives who wouldn’t like it either - and I wouldn’t blame them.
I have no interest in diversity for the sake of diversity. There wasn’t a hell of a lot of diversity that died on Apollo 1 or running up Omaha Beach in the effort to make this country the envy of the world.

The student sections in DKR are first come first serve and students tend to sit together in their friend groups.
If you go over one section, it is probably 99% white lol.
If you go over another section. It is probably 75% Hispanic
