There is a whole lot to unpack regarding this issue.
1 - the massive H1B migration to Texas happened under the watch of multiple Republican governors. GWB, Rick Perry and Greg Abbott. Especially Greg Abbott. He has sold Texas out to immigrants - both foreign (Indian, Muslim) and domestic (Californians).
2 - assimilation. Anti-immigration people always complain that the immigrants don't "assimilate". What says "assimilation" more than a group of students of Indian descent, whether or not they are citizens, expressing their love for the Texas Longhorns?
3 - they're here and won't be leaving. They're going to be procreating and producing thousands, and probably millions, of new Texans looking several generations down the line. Why piss them off by insulting them? Why not invite them into "the Republican tent" while their minds are still young and pliable?

The last 3 Republican governors of Texas have done the same with the Muslims and Indians, especially Greg Abbott.

McDonald’s fricks up your order on Monday, fine. No big deal. It also happens on Wednesday and Friday of that week, there’s going to be more frustration. This is a non-issue without the broader immigration concerns. It’s not an isolated situation.

Completely agree with this in particular.
The thing I get tired of is whitey always getting labeled racist or islamaphobic by immigrants - or at least a family that immigrated within a generation or two. They tend to come from countries that are a lot more intolerant - yet we’re the assholes.

Importing Indians is the new Israel for the Republican Party. I’m sure that the majority will be great Americans. You don’t see very many Indian deadbeats on the streets.
