I guess this is possible. It also seems possible that, in some ways, it could simply provide more legal cover for it.

Does this happen in other legal trades?

Outside of true slavery, which does exist, legal trades are not subject to forced labor.

In situations where it does exist, there are other illegal externalities involved, such as immigration status or drug addiction.

If you consider prostitution to be a “trade” and give it the same legal standing as any other trade, there is no reason to expect a different result.

Her position on this makes perfect sense considering the positions that she agreed to to get her positions in her work.

Are there a lot of other "legal trades" that have had generations of societal stigma before becoming legal?

Hmmm, this must be similar to:
Athletic behavior of athletes.
Criminal behavior of criminals.
Intoxicated behavior of drunks.

Are there a lot of other legal trades that were previously illegal?

No.

So Prostitution becomes a legit business? Will OSHA the become responsible for monitoring the safety risk of sexually transmitted communicable diseases like AIDS or other STD? Will such encourage youthful minimum wage females to take the leap of what will now be a legit business enterprise?Tax liability re failure to report income re Pimps? Self employment tax for the self employed Sex Workers? Kamala should have a major press conference and explain these problematic aspects of her policy. She won’t, for the same reason she don’t elaborate on the rest of her policies. She can’t, because the are societally destructive.

When prostitution was legal, women were often more empowered in that profession. Chicago's Evelynn Sisters became millionaires, for example. Brothel is a great read on the subject.

When prostitution was legalized in Nashville during Civil War std rates decreased. Funny how that happens.

Yeah, let’s incentivize more sex trafficking
Nah, pimping would be illegal, as it is in Canada. Legalizing fully consensual prostitution is not where the argument lies. A more cogent point rests with sales of hard drugs to addicts. I guess one could possibly argue addicts don't have a rational capacity for consent?

That isn't currently against the law so I don't see your argument here. Is it that they are trying to make it a law?

The ATF is on the warpath against private sales.
Not Law. But they're making their rules. Again. Not Law
But still carries federal penalties. But isn't law.

Fukk ABC agencies.

It does happen in other trades.

The cartels undercutting legal marijuana growers with their product (with the legality of the distribution providing the legal cover, including cleaning the money).

However, it is not common and just because it does happen doesn't necessarily mean it will happen in this case.

We should make pimps illegal, just like drugs

Problem solved

The girls they are pumping will claim it’s consensual if asked under fear of retribution from the pimps
