Within the framework of the Constitution, the VP has NO authority, NO job, NO responsibilities other than as the President of the Senate.
The VP is not in the chain of command, not the "deputy" President and only has other responsibilities, outside of presiding over the Senate, as delegated by the President. Historically, it was largely ceremonial functions. It is only a very, very, very recent development (ETA: that they do anything outside of be on standby).
Famously, Harry Truman knew nothing about the atomic bomb project until he was inaugurated.

While true, Biden is the oldest president ever, and most think he’s suffering from some form of dementia. Despite what we all might think of her (in)competence, she is literally closer to becoming President than any VP in U.S. history and it just seems like common sense to keep her abreast of foreign policy that she could be in charge of at any time.

She gets the exact same daily national security briefings that POTUS does for that reason. She’s just mad because Joe didn’t ask her for input or permission on this one.
