Just Returned From Publix; Maybe We Do Need Military Curfews Because People Are Idiots

Man what an eye opener.
Saw multiple people wiping their noses and touching food. Guy slicing meat in the deli actually wiped his nose on his wrist and hand while slicing someone’s meat.
Customer on one aisle was coughing hard and loud into the air, covering nothing. Woman touched about twenty avocados before deciding on one. Saw another guy make a huge loud sniff and cough then run his entire open hand across and down his whole face before then immediately touching stuff on the shelf.
They have like 15 checkouts but only three open and all three are right next to each other so you have a mass ball of people when it’s unnecessary. Why not keep an empty checkout between?
Store worker wedges his way in to put candy on checkout shelf and literally brushes against me while doing so, staying and standing right next to me. I say “are you for real right now? How about a little space?” He gives me a blank empty stare and continues.
Bagger tells me to put my stuff on the conveyor. I say “no thanks I’ll hold it.” She tells me again, seemingly perplexed. I say again, “no thanks.” She says why? I say because I’m trying to touch as few surfaces as possible, especially those that are touched thousands of times every day. It’s not hard for me to hold my items. She looked confused.
More Publix employees gather, talking, so now I’m surrounded by about six of them all within reaching distance. “Are we trying to see how many people we can get in a single small area? Have y’all not heard about social distancing?” I get nothing but blank stares.
If people would use common sense we could go about our daily lives with minimal disruption. How hard is it to do simple common sense things like not stick your fingers in your nose and mouth for a short time, wash your hands, touch stuff less, and keep six feet between you and someone else?
If people can’t use basic common sense and act like adults then maybe they need to be treated as children and sent to their rooms and told to stay there.
Rant off.

Sorry got more...
This is all about personal responsibility.
I want this episode over as quickly as possible and with minimal disruption. I can take responsibility and do my part and it’s not hard to do so. It pisses me off when I see others act like morons.

I’m glad we have the right to be idiots in this country

No.
I did my part.
They need to stay inside.

Went in Walmart the other day, complete opposite story. Everyone was acting like everyone else was radioactive and oozing the AIDS
It was kinda nice. But I'm antisocial anyway.

No one is social distancing
My Dad went on a rant about a woman “picking up & fondling” a bunch of bell peppers at the store Monday.

That is why we ordered groceries to pickup and when we got home we took the out of the ack of the truck (where they loaded them) and wiped everything down before it came inside.

I agree with your op content but not this... remember the adage "those who trade their freedom for security deserve neither".

That's just it, their behavior is conducive with herd immunity, and we will be over it quickly.
Your behavior is an incredibly disruptive, slow burn. Next time, use Instacart

Went to a Piggly Wiggly here in Mississippi, and they were cleaning buggies before you got yours. They cleaned the conveyor after every checkout and had a line you had to stand behind until the person in front was done. I was impressed.

Calm the frick down, Nancy.

Yet some people here think we can just open everything back up based on the belief that everyone is capable of using common sense.

Curbside pick up order drives up. Goes on to tell the girl that she is getting food because they were at the hospital getting her son tested. Wtf are you here for!

people have been doing those things your entire life and here you are. You survived.

If a virus ever afflicts the stupid, we'll lose 80% of the country.

The Pig is giving all of their employees a 2 buck per hour bonus too. Pig for the win.
