Based on this practice, an American citizen can also be "off-shored" by our government without any constitutional remedy. THAT is what concerns me.

That's a big plane for 17 people.

Unless they're trying to say something else, of course.

I'm uncomfortable with our government whisking away people based on allegations of violations of American immigration law to (apparent) life sentences in an El Salvador jail without any trial

"People" aren't being "whisked" away, illegals are. In this case, illegal criminals. If I was questioned by ICE about being an illegal, i could show em my drivers license, my TWIC card, my insurance cards, etc... it wouldn't be a problem for a citizen to demonstrate their citizenship.

Apart from that, illegals being removed under the Illegal Aliens act aren't entitled to the same due process as a citizen when arrested for criminal offenses. The illegal persons due process is the process used by ICE to determine whether or not that person fits the requirements of that law.
People are confusing the two things, they are different, according to the law.

Or just open the door over the ocean and throw them out with a concrete block chained to them and be done with it.

Aren't MS13 and TdA Foreign Terrorist Organizations? If so, wouldn't membership in an FTO be on the wrong side of the law? If not, it certainly should be.

I honestly don't know. My experience was just with domestic gangs. I will use this as an excuse to look that up.

If it is a violation of American law, why aren't they being prosecuted for that? Should we have just deported Laken Riley's murderer?

This. Everyone knows the rules. If they don’t self deport they are choosing to pick a fight they cannot win

I don’t mind any invader getting a life sentence. Ensures they won’t continue the cycle of coming here, deported, come back and doing it endlessly.

Once we start filling up CECOT and the new Gitmo facility, I’m sure we will record self deportation and attempts to jump the border

I guess I just do not care... I'd rather them sent to CECOT than hanging out in our prisons getting more recruits and gaming the system.

Laken Riley's murderer, José Antonio Ibarra, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Yes, I'd rather he were sent to CECOT as it is a much harsher prison and he 'd never get out. While he’s imprisoned here, he has a system to be gamed and future politicians may take pity on his azz... CECOT him!

It is probably multi-tasked, dropping off prisoners was just one of them.

A lot of us dont care what their opinions are. If they are here illegally they should be deported. If they are a doctor, skilled laborer or serial rapist... I want them all gone.

Every single one.

You, Bunk, and Matt are free to hop on the next plane out if you don't like how things are being done here.

This may be the most disturbing post I’ve ever read on the Poli Board. Even getting one of these wrong isn’t worth it. The power you give them now to do something you want will be the same power they use against you. Write it down.

Overall I am THRILLED with Trump.2.0. It's what I voted for.

Why should I leave the country because I am not convinced yet that a particular policy is being executed constitutionally?

I didn't leave the country under Biden who instituted horrible, clearly anti-American policies.
