Flights and hotel I am looking at at 3,000 dollar trip. Worth the cost? Has anyone ever been?

Once in a lifetime, enjoy. Is that incl hotel? Stay with NT74. Or travel down to where it is 95 and it won't cost $600 just to sleep.

Wear comfy shoes and a jacket. Suppose to be 50 degrees I think. Start early. I truly wish you could take one of the dirtbags not going seats.

I went to Obama's second. I'm not an Obama guy at all and it was still a really cool thing to experience. I would go again for any president if given the oportunity. Hard to say what's "worth it" to you money wise. We stayed with friends and our tickets were free so it wasn't very expensive for us.

Honestly, probablly not worth it. Going to be crowded as hell. If you have never been to DC just go on some other weekend.

It's on my bucket list. This would have been a a great year but just too much going on right now. I am taking off work Friday to stay home and watch on tv.

I've never been in town for an inauguration so I'll make the trek across the river just to witness all the snowflakes melting

Those of us who live anywhere near are staying waaaaay away from the city. I think it's a terrific opportunity, but the dangers and crazy crowds are not to be underestimated. So many parts of the city are off-limits that you probably won't get to see the best parts of it.

People are probably going to give you some grief about the amount of money you're spending, but if it makes you feel any better, when I went in 04 I nailed $99 each way fares on Southwest and crashed at a friend's house. Probably spent less than $300 on the whole trip, excluding the tux rental.

Been twice. When I was two for the Reagan inauguration. I don't remember it. Second time for Clinton. Remember parts.

I hate Trump and wouldn't go myself, but if going is a once in a lifetime experience, you shouldn't miss out on it. It's an amazing experience, from what I remember as a child the second time around.

Went to Clinton's first, and W's second inauguration. Was incredible. Very special, so glad I went.

Find a cheaper hotel, further out. Drive or taxi/uber to a Park/Ride, and take DC Metro to L'Enfant (or other), but leave earlier than you think you should.

TIP: If the inbound trains are full, take a train OUTBOUND 1, 2 or 3 stations, then get on at that station, for an inbound train.

Seriously, GO!! I wish I was.
