On the other hand, the school board is clearly abridging speech.

The law is no longer an honorable profession and as I have said in other posts, every law school in this country should be shuttered for at least the next quarter century as we have an overabundance of its practitioners.
Let attrition bring their numbers down to a somewhat manageable level.

Can some please explain what "legal basis" this "judge" is claiming?
Posted on 3/20/25 at 12:55 pm to Jbird
Bottom line theres way too many of the dishonest SOB's. Most of the country's ill's can be traced directly to them as they fix the system for their own benefit.

I reckon parents are going to have to just start stealing that stuff from the liberries.

Why are they bound & determined to expose children to sexual content at every available opportunity?
Posted on 3/20/25 at 12:57 pm to VoxDawg
The unvarnished truth is most of them are sexual deviants of one form or another.

"If a book/any book" instead of "When a book" in the context of your reply would have helped. I had to read it a few times to get that you were being general and not referring to this specific book.

Whose speech?
Everybody's man! That brave dyke is on the front lines, defending the Constitution from local elected officials. She's totally NOT some alphabet activist and that had zero influence on her opinion.

When a given book is rejected purely based upon a political view concerning its content (as is admitted here), you have a different kettle of fishies.
What do you mean "as is admitted here?" I missed that part.
Also, I know you said you thought the judge in this case was in error, but can you explain more about why you think that?
Posted on 3/20/25 at 1:03 pm to antibarner
Absolutely. The question is a rhetorical one, but folks need to do the math.

There is no right of free speach within the confines of a school and no right of free speech in the school library
The only possible argument t that could exist is if the books were approved by the school board and then removed by the superintendent without following some rule
Also how does a federal judge get to make that determination as it is only a local issue - there is no jurisdiction

The first isn’t absolute. Liberals taught me that.
I’ll go out on a short limb and guess forcing gay porn on school children meets exception criteria.

Y'all read the guy's whole post—he said the judge was wrong in the ruling.
And the school board IS abridging speech. That doesn't mean it's violating the first amendment—which Hank did not claim, and in fact claimed the opposite—or that it's wrong or inappropriate for them to abridge this speech (which, again, Hank did not claim).
I don't know anything about how books end up ion school libraries or any of the jurisdictional arguments; you may be right about that for all I know.
But Hank is not claiming a violation of the 1st here.

We would need to review each individual book to determine whether each contains "indecency, profanity and pornography," would we not?
The school district has already done so. Thus the removal.

And wrong. You stated it was "rejected purely based upon a political view concerning it's content".
Rather than trying to be a contrarian, it's ok to just not post in some threads.

I guess they have to carry that book in the library as well.

It's sad, democrats have already destroyed institutional trust with a decade of fake news, now they're speedrunning the destruction of the judicial branch.
It actually makes perfect sense when you realize they’re actually globalists committed to destroying US institutions to replace them with a globalist one world government.
Socialists have written hundreds of books explaining how their revolutions work.
