Controversial and staunchly socially conservative judge roy moore is poised to win the republican primary to replace jeff sessions senate seat.

Actually, it doesn't matter because it's not relevant. He won't be in a position to do anything to defy the court. He isn't being appointed to the federal bench.
Edit: I'm not supporting him, mostly because he's been an embarrassment.
