Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui told an attorney representing the Department of Corrections (DOC) that he was "fascinated and disturbed" by Allen's treatment in jail. Allen was placed on suicide watch when he was first imprisoned.

Then this judge brings in Jan 6 into his argument..

"To me, it’s extremely disturbing that he was put in five-point restraints, a person with no criminal history," Faruqui said, later adding that Allen is presumed innocent. "It’s troubling. I never heard of one Jan. 6 defendant who was put in five-point restraints or in a safe cell. If the only way to keep him safe is the most punitive thing, that’s a problem."

The judge said even Jan. 6 defendants were only housed in a Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF), a less restrictive form of prison housing.

No matter what you think of Trump the fact so many traitors have infiltrated our government is disgusting. I believe Republicans for allowing this crap to happen. Weak leadership on the conservative side has allowed this to fester.

This is appalling.

I also haven't heard of one January 6 defendant charging the entrance of the Capitol with a loaded firearm that he discharged aimlessly while running.

There should be NO TRIAL LEVEL, OR INTERMEDIATE APPELLATE JUDGES IN WASHINGTON DC. The only court in Washington DC should be the SCOTUS.

So SCOTUS will now do every murder, rape, burglary and public intoxication case in Washington DC? Is that what you want?

I'm not happy with the judges statements at all. But that doesn't mean we need to turn SCOTUS into the local city court for the city/district of Washington where they would handle run of the mill cases like bar fights, have to seat juries, deal with traffic cases, etc. That suggestion is unworkable from a practical standpoint.

Useless judge. If he can't differentiate an armed psycho from unarmed intruders, there's no help for his kind. A judge shouldn't be making statements like that which could be seen as supporting the defendant.

While I can't argue specifics about how arrested J6's were treated, I've read and listened to enough to know some were treated much much much worse for a much much much lesser charge.

It's literally scary to know that such warped and Marxist judges actually sit on benches......

thats a lie. myself and many other were in CDF, the real jail. Yes, there was a j6 pod in CTF.

No, we were not all in it.

This dude is in suicide watch because hes afraid. DC jail is gladiator school.

This dimwit should be removed. He obviously is not up for this case as he let's his feelings override the fricking law.

Can the DOJ not suspend a judge who acts in such an obviously politicized manner pending a review? Are there no boundaries a judge cannot cross?

They didn’t storm with guns or actually get any shots off like this offender.

Actually the opposite, an unarmed civilian was murdered.

Scary to think a judge is this idiotic but I’m sure it’s just the blue shining through…
