What was the name the show and/or channel?

I think Jon Ossoff has a really good chance to win the special election in Georgia's 6th Congressional district. He's a pretty impressive guy, a scholar, and an accomplished writer, and what's more important, an old fashioned Southern blue dog Democrat who favors a strong national defense and budgetary responsibility. He seems to be as far removed from the Pelosi/Pocahontas wing of the party, as Beethoven is from Spike Jones.

What does the board think about this?

I am about six months older than Ossoff and have a better educational, political, and business resume than he does, and I wouldn't think of running for federal office for at least another eight to ten years.

Too young, too inexperienced, not nearly enough exposure to the real world.

I liked the attack ads against him from his college days. I like to drink and like Star Wars so I automatically figured he's a moderate that leans left.

When I found out how he was being funded, I stopped even considering voting Ossoff.

He'll just vote Liberal-Democrat and I think many feel the same way as me.

Once the runoff happens, it's over. Too many suburbia votes in North Fulton will turn out in June to support anyone but a Democrat being funded by Pelosi.

This. The runoff with the Repub winner is in June I think. That give the Republicans enough time to consolidate and focus a campaign against Ossoff...the 6th district will most likely stay red

He's going to lose bigly in June. Nobody is actually voting FOR this little crapweasel, because he's never done anything to warrant a seat in Congress and doesn't even live in the district.
There is a base of voters, about 35-40 percent , the ones with Trump derangement syndrome, who will turn out as protest votes against Trump. Those same voters would vote for a ham sandwich over a Republican if they thought it would damage Trump.
This guy is a stooge of Pelosi, John Lewis and Hank Johnson and nobody with half a brain is buying his BS.

I live in the adjacent district. You can't believe the way they have blown up the TV with huge numbers of ads. Sometimes an Ossoff ad will be immediately followed by a PAC ad attacking him. The Rethugs also are running huge numbers of ads for Moody, Handel and Hill.

I thought that too. He's like Al Gore but not as likable.

I'm so sick of his commercials. If I were in the 6th district there is no way I would vote for him.
When I saw John Lewis endorse him, that's all I needed to know about him.

No they won't. They elected Edwin Edwards 4 times in spite of federal indictments. (For Governor)

(I was born in Baton Rouge, so I know what Louisiana politics are like.....Georgia's is pretty bad, too)

Southern republicans really need to get ahead of this new tactic that democrats are using if they want to keep their hold on the south.

What they are going to need to do is start campaigns aimed at women, people with less than white skin and folks who like folks with similar plumbing to their own 'cause the times they are a changing and us white folks are too busy making money and buying shite to frick regular enough to have babies....

LOL Georgia isn't voting for this clown. I live in Atlanta and even the people in the city I've talked to about him think he's a clown and will just be a puppet for the people that funded his campaign.

They won't in the runoff. People in Georgia are notorious for sucking up to carpet baggers like Handel, who will be the GOP candidate in the run-off, and not supporting home town folks like Ossoff. This penchant for sucking up to yankee scum is why Atlanta became the empire city of the south while every other city in the south languished in ignorance and poverty and hatred until enough people like Handel moved in and changed places like Nashville and Charlotte and Birmingham to look more like New York and Boston....and southerners know deep in our hearts that these people know better than we do how to conduct our affairs and it leaves us to our ignorance and hatred....

Lot of Democrats have their hopes up really high for this guy. Very funny. Few things I find more amusing than Democrats wasting their hard earned money on losing candidates. Soon this jerk is going to be back making indie documentaries with his mom's money full time.

No such thing anymore. He's doing it for the votes, then will fall lock-step in with the Lefties when elected, except on inconsequential items.

Thank you sir, this thread can stop right here.
