I think Jon Ossoff has a really good chance to win the special election in Georgia's 6th Congressional district.

Are you saying this is not true? It would be hilarious if he misses the 50% by 1 vote...the one he couldn't cast for himself since he doesn't live in nor vote in the district.

It's completely true he lives a little more than a good 3 wood from his district line. Do you know why? Do you care? Should anyone care? He's lived in the district for his entire life other than very recently. It's a non-story.

I know what he claimed. But if it is as you say "little more than a good 3 wood from the district line", is it really that much closer to his girlfriend's medical school? If he is so concerned about the needs of the district why wouldn't he stay there? He also says people have a right to question this issue in making their decisions, and I agree with him. Fact is... he is running for election in a district in which he does not reside.

I've never shopped there. They don't have a store in New Orleans. With that said there's probably a reason for that. After looking online it looks like a lot of the grocery stores here in NO carry a lot of the same products.

Med students tend to want to live as close as possible to their school because they spend a huge amount of time at school during those 4 years. It's not strange for her to want to live close to campus and he lives with her.

This implies that you can't be concerned about a district if you don't live in it. I don't believe that to be the case and I don't think most people would.

Your fact is correct. It's importance is up for debate.

The way NOLA is booming I wouldn't be shocked if they wound up getting a small one somewhere (or a Dean & Deluca which is similar). The only problem is the most logical place for it (Canal Place) doesn't have enough residential areas within walking distance to support. If NOLA got a modern semi-high rise approved close to Magazine or St. Charles I could see it going there.

Worth noting before #GA06 results that Ossoff's campaign manager last night went out of his way to prepare volunteers for a runoff

Still time to get in the PredictIt market and make 25% on a runoff and 25% tonight on Ossoff not being the eventual winner

About 8 years ago Trump had plans to build one of these near the end of Poydras.

But he nixed it.

And this is why the Dems have lost power, they consider common sense to be shilled talking points.

Everyone that I know in the 6th is voting for Ossoff. I live in the 11th so I don't have a dog in the fight, but the 6th isn't as locked up as it once was.

Yeah, to get into the 6th he'd have to live north of Clairmont or on the other side of 85. That's a huge jump in commute time even for a few miles in the N Druid Hills area.

It's funny to see that this is all Republicans have on the day of the election, though.

What's the feeling? Do people think he'll get 50% of the vote? I have to think there are enough people in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, & Milton which won't allow him to break that threshold.

Hearing from some friends at Lakeside that might be more in-person votes there this election than in November. That's a good sign for Ossoff.

It seems crowded at polling spots in Sandy Springs. But I still think he'll fall short.
