They are pausing the J&J but not the other vaccines that have had issues as well. Is it because they want more MRNA? Seems odd to pause one and not the other two.

J&J vaccine doesn't have problems. At least not blood clotting problems.

6 women out of 7 million doses equates to .00009% of vaccines administered possibly gave blood clots.

The percentage of people in the US that get blood clots each year with no identifying cause is roughly .009%. 900,000 people out of about 350 million people.

60,000 of those may die and the medical community can not explain it.

So 6 women get blood clots and 1 dies and they know the J&J vaccine is to blame.

If it smells like bullshite it usually is.

And no men, and no women over 50, so it would make more sense to continue administering to those groups while investigating what the six adverse reactions had in common.

And it was only women at a lower rate than what is normal.

One OB/GYN doc speculated that they were also taking birth control pills... Time will tell.

Got no problem with them looking into it, but it is unlikely that these problems are actually adverse reactions to the vaccine.

But I guess we will all see.

Agree - but it could be an interaction between the vaccine and a certain medication or underlying condition.

I would agree that people don't understand basic statistics and coincidence. A lot of uncritical people see any correlation as a cause and effect relationship.

However, this is not any old embolism, so the numbers you cite are moot. In this case, we are seeing an extremely rare type of clot called Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST). Johns Hopkins University's website estimates it to occur in about 5 out of one million individuals yearly. (I think I heard the FDA guy on TV say it's about 15-30 out of a million). Either way, it's very, very rare.

But that's not all. CVST is a clot, but these patients are also seeing thrombocytopenia (very low platelet counts). So you have clotting and later the platelets drop extremely low and they bleed into their brains. This is sometimes seen in people who receive the drug heparin.

He didn't "bully" you about your choice of vaccine. He gave you a little shite for referring to the mRNA vaccines as DNA altering.
