John Bel Edwards discussed Senate run with top Democrat Chuck Schumer

In a story about how Schumer and other Democrats are trying to win a majority in the 2026 elections despite a map that heavily favors Republicans, the Times said Edwards, a Democrat, met with Schumer once by phone and once in person in Washington, citing a person briefed on the conversations.
"Mr. Edwards has signaled to party leaders to circle back to him closer to August," the person said, according the the Times.

What is Graves up to. He’s was kind of an establishment bitch but he got stuff done for the district and would be an upgrade over Cassidy.

JBE better be careful not to fly too close to the sun. Stay in the private sector because a lot can re-surface about his coverup of Ronald Greene. Let sleeping dogs lie, sit this one out Governor Honor Chode.

Cassidy can’t win, and if the GOP doesn’t primary him out, they deserve to lose the seat for being stupid.

Think back to what this fricker did to us during Covid. And how he sat back for 8 years and did nothing about the carnage in New Orleans. I could go on and on. It’s scary to think there are people who would vote for him.

I think Fleming is going to be strong. Especially if Mike Johnson can be convinced to get the state and national party behind him. Trump should most likely come in with a vocal disparagement of Cassidy which will torpedo his chances. The biggest thing is making sure Miguez and his supporters play nice in the runoff.

On top of all his Covid bullshite, he was also advocating for boys in girls sports. Biggest clown governor I've ever seen in Louisiana in my lifetime, and believe me that is saying a lot as the bar was already pretty low.

You greatly underestimate the democratic party’s ability to conveniently ignore or forget things about candidates they support. In addition, the more people Landry pisses off, the better JBE looks.
