Great podcast, this is where Trump is at his best! He's flourishes in these types of settings. He gained independent voters last night, I see a legit landslide coming.

Loved the insight of his vision on using Tariffs.

People that think Rogan would treat Kamala differently from Trump are crazy. He handled Trump with kid gloves and he’d do the same for her.

This was an opportunity for both candidates to show a little more of their personality and a glimpse into who they actually are and what their plans are, and Trump took it. He wasn’t overly bombastic or controversial, which probably disappointed his base but is absolutely the best move for him politically. Kamala would have been fine as well, and honestly might’ve won some votes just by showing up.

Probably Bloomberg
that was my first thought but he’s been mayor of NY and Trump said this guy doesn’t like politics so I’m thinking it’s leonard stern or dolphins owner Stephen Ross both real estate guys.

Kamala can’t though because she needs someone to tell her what to think at all times. She can’t just hold a conversation for 3 hours. Joe would help her for sure but she doesn’t have 3 hours worth of interesting stuff to talk about without Joe dragging her along.

Anyone have the link to Trump on the view that they were referring to early in the podcast?

Did Rogan say that to Trump tonight? I haven't watched it yet.

He did

Trump went off on one of his super long tangents. Actually, I think it was a tangent off a tangent of a tangent. Then Joe told him his weave was getting too wide and pulled him all the way back in. I spit out my nightcap.

For context, Trump had gone off on a smaller tangent earlier, and Joe tried to rein him in, and Trump himself said he has a tendency to weave around, but he always brings it back and lands the plane. Or usually does. He was laughing at himself and being self-deprecating, so when Joe mentioned it later, it was a recall and a funny moment for both of them.

I watched all but the last 20 minutes—fell asleep (because it was 2:30, not boring). And as someone who will be voting for Trump for a 3rd straight time, I thought it was the best I’ve ever seen him. He was the most likable, relatable, human, conversational, and just overall normal I’d ever seen him. And I was really impressed with his command of the issues that were brought up and his memory on all kinds of topics.

I’m surprised by some of the comments in this thread to be honest. He didn’t seem nervous at all. And this was not the platform for him to come on and win over any undecideds on the issues. I don’t think those voters still exist. If there are still any undecideds left to be gotten, it’s the ones that have been convinced by others that he’s “a threat to democracy,” “evil,” and “literally Hitler.” And I don’t think he could have done a better of dispelling all that nonsense. Now, how many of those folks will actually ever listen to this and if it will actually have any sort of impact? Who knows.

Rogen did his best to keep trump on topic. It’s hard to do.

I heard Tucker Carlson on someone else's show (maybe Jordan Peterson, but don't remember exactly) but answering the question of who has been his hardest interview and Tucker replied "Trump", precisely because it was near impossible to keep him on point.

Yeah but I tuned out after he brought up Apprentice ratings when they were talking about the calculated attack on him by Democrats and the media

I dont disagree but it’s critical for a long form podcast not to be extremely confrontational.. Rogans best quality is being curios and simply having a conversation versus a true interview. That’s why it works.. you allow the guest to speak freely, you prod them on topics and share your thoughts, gently debating and discussing disagreements without raising the temperature..

I thought it interesting that trump actually acknowledged that he goes off topic on purpose.
I think it’s annoying as hell but he must think it’s necessary.

Overall though, this was a positive interview. It won’t get him any more voters but tactically, it was smart since it makes camela self conscious. she needs male voters and Rogen could help there. she won’t do it. She’s scared.

I’ve been clear on my opinion of Trump. I’m certainly not a trumpeteer. I look at him objectively. I like Rogen though. I figured trump would do well on the show but he exceeded my expectation. Well done.

What I think people have to understand about Trump is that once he gets the points he wants to make out of the way, he then has an actual genuine conversation with people. But you have to let him get that out of the way

Then you missed the meat of the conversation.

A lot of people talk like this. If you really study the interview Trump will rando rattle of statistics and Rogan says oh you mean- __________ or this or that.

I agree with Tucker. Trump is on the spectrum as highly functioning very brilliant.

Or he has ADHD, OCD. It is rare and a gift that people like Trump have humor and good comedic timing, superb judge of character a sixth sense.. It flows because he just says what he thinks.

I think Trump made it clear he just wants to fix America and not lock people up (that should be locked up) He will though fire them all in govt that are rotten as he should. He also called Pompeo a good guy-when Pompeo wanted to assassinate Julian Assange.

I think he is softening the playing field to get in there and he better clean it up...Now that he knows they are mostly all rotten to the core.

Trump said my thing that I have said for 30 years...Regarding Israel and Prophecy.

I would love to talk to Trump. I get him. I now see that his repetition isn't just memorized stuff. There is a reason as no one listens...really, and then when the bad stuff happens people say Trump was correct.

It is no brainer stuff. But it seems many don't see they are in such bubbles.

Some are so brainwashed they think abortion is a sacrament to the democrat party.

ETA: SORRY THIS COMMENT WAS MEANT FOR STOUT.

Ok. So vet them. He’s the president lol. It’s not like he’s some low level employee at Walmart asking his manager to get something approved from corporate.

I get the point. It’s just a stupid point and doesn’t make much sense for someone who’s all about “hiring the best”
