I realize this was pages ago, but it was an important point and I'm late to the thread.

I'm a US Marshal and we've had "high profile" arrests that don't even come close to Epstein's profile; if we believe these individuals are a danger to themselves or someone else they're literally watched 24/7 in our custody and in their cell.

Marshals would've been the ones to handle Epstein and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they would be watching over him in prison some too.

"Famous" persons (celebrities, infamous killers, prolific rapists, those that make headlines) are separated from gen-pop and given special protection outside their cell, they're NEVER alone.

When we have to move one of these individuals they won't even allow one guard or one Marshal to escort them, it ALWAYS has to be at least a pair - even inside the prison walking through the halls with cameras everywhere.

Long story short, there's something fishy going on here. Suicide watch means everything they could potentially harm themselves with is stripped away and they're always under careful watch; not like every 15 minutes like some have suggested.

There's mixed reporting on the suicide watch deal. Im not telling you anything you dont already know Im sure, but for the sake of conversation, suicide watch isn't indefinite....once there's a finding that guy is not a present suicide threat then back he goes. Which Im sure the detainee actively seeks. His attorneys could have helped with that effort as well given his likely pleas to them to get him back to the luxury of regular lodging and accommodations.

So maybe he succeeded in a clean bill of health, and the rest is history.

Trump retweets Epstein conspiracy theory, claiming Clinton connection

The president retweeted a conspiracy theory on Saturday that suggested a connection between former President Bill Clinton and the death of the wealthy financier and accused sex trafficker.

President Donald Trump retweeted a conspiracy theory on Saturday evening alleging without evidence that former President Bill Clinton was connected to the death of wealthy financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, hours after Epstein was found dead by apparent suicide in his federal prison cell. "Died of SUICIDE on 24/7 SUICIDE WATCH ? Yeah right! How does that happen," wrote Terrence K. Williams, a conservative commentator and comedian, in the message retweeted by Trump. In a two-minute long selfie video recording, Williams alleged that the Clintons were responsible for Epstein's death.

Trump Tweets Link to Conspiracy Theory Website by Michael Warren | November 26, 2017 02:25 PM

quote:

A number of other old pages at the domain are inaccessible, but the website’s Twitter page remains active, tweeting out a mix of conspiracy theories, Fox News videos, news articles from mainstream outlets, and retweets of President Trump. In one recent tweet, MAGAPILL put out an unsourced image rife with outlandish conspiracies about the people and entities who control our institutions: Interesting 'Flow Chart' of #TheSwamp pic.twitter.com/5THoB7J5XV — MAGA PILL ???? www.MAGAPILL.com (@MAGAPILL) November 18, 2017

The image includes levels of the supposed conspiracy, each with an image of a rabbit going down a hole to the next level (another Matrix/alt-right allusion). Among the conspiracies listed are: “false flag terrorism”, genetically modified crops, the use of “algorithmic censorship” of social media, “rogue intel factions” at the CIA and Mossad, a “network of global corporate control”, “Luciferian rituals”, secret societies like the Knights Templar and the Jesuits, and “trauma based mind control.” At the bottom of the entire conspiracy are the “Overlords” from “Bloodline Families” that include the aristocracy and royalty, the papacy, and the banking families, all of whom apparently practice a Luciferian religion that worships “the Dark Side through rituals, including child/human sacrifice.”

quote:

And that’s just one tweet. Among the other crazy and baseless conspiracy theories MAGAPILL has promoted include the politically motivated murder of DNC employee Seth Rich, a cabal of members of Congress involved in satanic rituals and child sex abuse, and the existence of an anonymous internet poster with “Q-level” security clearance who is working to bring down the world order.

No one will ever be able to convince the anti clinton-ites that this was a straight forward suicide. It'll go down as a top 4 conspiracy story.

Further, guys like Epstein make me wish we could legally torture people. I see nothing wrong with torturing a guy like Epstein, who everyone believed to be a total scumbag, and torturing him for every ounce of info.

Strap him down in a dark room for 72 hours and torture the shite out of him while he floods the record with name after name of perverts he's hung out with.

No problem whatsoever.

There are a lot of rich people in high political places he was accused of being associated with. I would think it would make more sense for his killing to be perpetrated by someone who’s name hasn’t come out than someone who’s has.

I understand that watch is not indefinite, but how long has it been since he attempted to off himself?

18 days it appears. I wouldnt think they (shrink or whomever) endeavor to counsel such a person as you would a patient. Im sure they just have to put a little time in between and hear the detainee say enough times that they no longer have dark thoughts or whatever.

Coincidentally it would fit that Epstein was said to have been in good spirits leading up to, which could have been a ploy to clear away any lingering concern about possible suicidal intentions.

What is the length of penalty for sex trafficking? He was only accused not guilty yet. Why would a man suicide for this?

I see nothing in punishments that would give cause for suicide.

Sentenced consecutively on several different counts would earn him a good chunk...almost certainly a life sentence for a guy of his age. And it's widely accepted in the criminal justice world that once the feds put a case on you they've pretty much already fully constructed a near indefensible case. They will typically pass if the case is shaky. Very, very high conviction rate, unlike state courts that are more apt to roll the dice.
