So idiotically adding a wrong person to a signal chat shows complete incompetence regardless of the hostages freed, successful strikes on terrorists and headway on ending the Russia/Ukraine war the last few months

I did not expect to discover that the US government uses the same app I downloaded to chat with my 5 year old daughter’s Girl Scout troop to discuss military actions today.

We don't know that. Signal could be approved for such uses by NSA. I haven't checked into whether it is or isn't, but as long as you use approved devices, you are not breaking laws. From what was reported today, they were all using government phones, not personal phones which lends credence to the fact that they were trying to follow procedure.

Yes, but we don't know how Goldberg got in the chat. If someone intentionally invited him, then that is a problem. But as of now it seems to have been a mistake.

No it's not even close. Hillary had a server of thousands of top-secret documents in her basement being ran by a guy with zero security clearance. Those documents were on the Internet easily hackable by China or Russia. This Goldberg incident is nowhere close to that.

You realize the whole reason Signal exists is for secure chat, right? A lot of effort went into its development. Its security protocols were published in academic journals and later licensed to Apple, Meta and others. They all use the Signal protocol for their messaging apps because everyone knows it is the best out there.

Seems like it is real….. Walz phone added Goldberg from what I read…Walz seems ok but his wife is a far left looney, look there for answers….
As far as a using Signal and texts to discuss stuff like this..It is stupid I have to admit…. Really just lazy…..this new generation is too used to using the easy method….

Agree. I don't understand the hostility to Goldberg here. Unlike much of his work, this seems like actual journalism.

Goldberg did nothing wrong. It doesn't matter how you get a leak, that's on the person who did it. This wasn't even really a leak, though. That's why I don't understand some of the skepticism of Waltz. He didn't do this behind anyone's back, it was all right there in the text thread. How did no one in the chat notice this? Did everyone assume it was a different JG?
