As a state worker, I can confirm this is false

You can work from home, just expect everything you are doing to be upended or undermined by Landry’s sleazy political machinations and back room dealings with people like Fat Billy.

This is what every lawyer says about every law that would cut into their revenue.

This is not wrong.

And yet, I also don't trust a damn thing our legislature does or says.

Who is more full of crap? Trial lawyers or the legislature?

Tough call... especially when in many cases... they are the same people.

Any reason proof of insurance can’t just be submitted to OMV? That way it’s attached to the license plate, cop can run it in the car.

OMV I'm sure gets proof of insurance, because if you go a day without it, they sure are fast to send you a penalty letter.

Community-policing models have proven to be effective at preventing crime.

That is sad, as many of the proposed bills will help over time to reduce the rate increases and the fraudulent billboard lawyers' claims. I don't think anything will lower rates, we have to work on getting more competition in state and limit future increases.

Direct Action - SB250 and HB337
3rd party litigation - SB8 and HB336
Collateral Source (in some form) - HB 4234, SB244, and SB18

loser pays offer of judgement and Housley presumption are good also but need the first 3 to begin making an impact. If they water down tort reform like they did previously, it is pretty much useless.

Community-policing models

Those words don't actually mean anything. Its word salad.

What actual policies are you advocating that would be effective or have been shown to be effective elsewhere?

Your ignorance doesn't constitute nonexistence.

Having the same police officers patrol the same neighborhood is an example of community policing, which has also demonstrated to be effective in crime prevention and reduction.

Word out of BR is that our new Gov met with Tm Temple and GOP leaders yesterday and told them that he would veto ANY auto insurance or litigation reform confirming that he is bought and paid for by Gordon and his ambulance chaser buddies. The rumors during the campaign were apparently true.

If he was smart, he would wait until his 2nd term to get any of the tort reform stuff done. Suicide for him to do it in term 1

That could explain why most everything they are tossing out now looks so outlandish.

But, I'm not quite ready to give him or anyone in the legislature that sort of credit just yet.

Huh? “Community policing” without further explanation is vague nonsense.

Thank you. All you had to do was be specific and not use vague buzz phrases that have no objective meaning due to overuse.

Look who gave money to get him elected.

I am not at all shocked. The GOP in FL was/is bought by trial attorneys and have that market in peril as well. DeSantis finally got some reforms passed that will help stabilize things.

No way Louisiana does the same

As a state worker it’s now evident why you’re crying and bitching like you did a few days ago.

Also, your days are numbered because you’ll be considered wasteful so please do continue to hide and work from home. Your time is coming.

The reason FOR that is to see who and what areas need to be cut since there were bums still working from home at the expense of the taxpayer.

I think the real reason for that is that he wants to downsize a lot of state departments, and it's a LOT easier to cut an unfilled position from the budget after somebody quits than it is to lay them off in the first place.

Topic for another thread (which has been beaten to death), but hybrid WFH is a great model for employees that spend most of their time at a desk. It just puts more pressure on management to ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule; detailed daily work logs work well for this.

eta: WFH is still department dependent anyways.

Isn't Gordon the NIL guy?

He needs that money to pay them football players. Louisiana is arse backwards as it gets. I’ll take cheaper insurance over a good football team anyday.
