This is what you're left with when you grow up and realize the militia card was never what you thought it was.

Wait until you learn what the Second Amendment is actually for. That's going to be an interesting time in your life.

I'm curious, though, do you have the same blind stupidity when it comes to the First Amendment?

Here's a refresher for you:
quote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If you make that mandatory for all sorts of other things like getting welfare, getting medicine or taking out money at a bank every American would go and get registered for this in 5 days. That is what happened in Estonia.

For example - prescriptions -

Make it a holiday and just move Presidents day to that date.

I like how Vance is slogging through a list of ideas/proposals that are completely common sense in nature and nonetheless seem radical in the current age

Without machines
I’m fine with machines, you just need the paper back up ticket like they have in Texas, they tell you after you vote to look at your paper ticket extremely closely to ensure what you actually voted

Well that’s fine but I’m never voting again in a so called federal election until actual right wing candidates are allowed on the ticket. Can have a whole week off idgaf. Not voting uniparty ever again

As more and more people refuse to participate in what amounts to a charade and a selection, this government is gonna be trying to make voting mandatory like they do in Australia. Guaranteed

Every poll would show the vast majority of the American people want congressional term limits, want strict lobby reform, want voter ID for national elections, want same day voting, want paper ballots, want the prohibition of Congress trading stocks, want birthright citizenship abolished, want strict enforcement of immigration laws, etc........yet nothing changes. Hmmmm.

That only works in Australia because their politics allow for "silly" parties as a protest vote. You can't really do that in the US.

You can refuse to participate which 90 million or more did last November. They admitted that 90 million stayed home so it’s probably well over 100

This should have been done decades ago. If this happens the democrats will be cooked for generations. Imagine how many tax paying hard working citizens don’t vote because they have to work or are too tired or busy to go vote.

Dems won’t pick up many voted among this cohort.

Nope, it should be difficult to vote. That way we keep the riff raff away from the polls.

Yes.

Also need a mechanism to prevent ballots from being sent thru a counter more than once.

I should have used the sarcasm font for the last part. I don't want a mandatory finger print/facial recognition database.

I like it but do have these questions:

My question would be this: how do you handle students who are say out of state?

Or if you’re traveling and literally can’t get home? It does happen — away for a parents funeral, required work trip …

I'm totally on board with voter ID.

I'm also totally on board with same day reporting and ending counting on election day. I would also require tracking on ballot boxes so that nobody can claim "wow, I just found another box of ballots in my trunk."

I'm ambivalent about early voting.

I fail to see why a federal holiday is necessary. Voting should never take more than 30 minutes, even at high traffic times. (If it takes more time, the local board should be replaced.) At most, it would be a minor holiday, so the majority of people who got the day off would be state/federal workers. People in food service, retail, and most offices would still be at work. Who would be helped?

JMHO.
