You should be wiser

And I grew up in a 50/50 community. Never heard or seen it celebrated. My friends celebrated the 4th with me like normal Americans.

Another DIVISIVE tactic from the progressive loonies.

I grew up in North Louisiana. I heard about Juneteenth over fifty years ago. I was also born at a hospital named after the Confederacy and I remember Confederate Memorial Day. Whitlock has some interesting takes but he isn’t an historian.

Wow you are a lying douche bag. Maybe 5 people celebrated Juneteenth 4 years ago. It’s a made up “holiday.” You know it. We know it. The people celebrating it know it. frick off.

LMAO...do you realize why the day of June 19th was picked and that it was first celebrated in the 1860's? I understand why most people have never heard of it. It's not taught in school, it's not something you'd get introduced to unless you were part of that community. but Geeesh common on man.

LMAO

If you are too stupid toi see that it is being hyped as never before for a particular reason then you are not worth spending much time on.

Massachusetts celebrates Patriots Day. That is something we can all share. Why don't we start hyping that as a NATIONAL FEDERAL holiday just like "Juneteenth"?

Edit to add: and black race pimps clamoring for ANOTHER day off is just a bad look

Hyperbole much?

Sounds like you're throwing rocks from your side of the fence because their "blackness" doesn't mirror yours.

weird comment.

White President made it a Federal Holiday in the midst of all the pandering done since big ears was in office.

In the end, it's a day with a catchy name. No fricks given.

I listened from the 11:00 mark and what he is saying is absolute BS. Juneteenth was celebrated when I was a little kid and I'm 49 years old now (plus I grew up in Louisiana). Trust me.. if you grew up in the black church you recognized and celebrated Juneteenth. No there weren't big parades everywhere etc but it wasn't something that was taught and acknowledged.

Lived in TN, MS and AL and never heard of it. Doesn’t mean it didn’t exist but suggests that 1% of the population had any interest in it.

saw the comments Candace Owens made about Juneteenth. She's a really sad individual. But I'm not mad at her. As long as people like her, Jason Whitlock and Rachel Dolezal (or any other apologist on both sides of the coin) can say odd ball comments, get some attention and make a few dollars off of it they will continue to exist.

Strange you didn’t mention Al sharpton and the numerous black con men from the left.

Summary?

The summary is Juneteenth originated in TX.
Juneteenth was originally a celebration for black Americans in TX to commemorate/remember the last slaves in America being notified they were now a free people.
Jason says Juneteenth wouldn't not be a national holiday if not for the death of George Floyd.
Jason believes Juneteenth will never be a holiday that's celebrated by a majority of Americans.

I have no problem with it being a holiday for black folks.

White women and the trannies will hijack it though

What are you going to do next, call her an Auntie Tom?

Dude, you have been hoodwinked by the propagandist. It wasn’t taught because it was a very local thing. It only came to light because of George Floyd of Fentanyl Fame. Just admit it and stop trying to make it some big racial conspiracy.

The last slaves in Texas. There was still slavery in some union states.

I've never once associated juneteenth with George Floyd.

I like Jason Whitlock.
But I disagree. He is an opinion column. Not factual journalist.
