I know what an assault weapon is, because I know the definition of assault and of weapon, and literally every weapon is by definition an assault weapon. That's what weapons are for: assault, battery, injury, death. Otherwise they're just guns or knives etc., not necessarily weapons.

These people need to show proof of a lower bmi.

Seriously, not one person is saying to eat healthy, lower your sugar intake and exercise regularly.

Yes George and writing songs is his weakness but he has more number one hits of all music genres. He is also one biggest selling artists all of all time. It is a weird comparison as Isabell isn't on his level.

Yeah, but I also don’t think Isbell is trying to be. I think a better comparison to Strait would be Alan Jackson. Similar era, traditional but radio friendly catalogue, warm baritone voices, with the difference being that Strait has a lot more hits but Jackson wrote the hits he had. Actually that’d probably be a good thread on the music board if anyone ever used it

Yeah but that bad isbell assault rifle tweet led directly to the guy with feral hog problem tweet so it was net win for humanity

That rhetorical question actually came to my mind the last time I visited Nashville: it was infested with feral soy-boys.

The guy is a total cuck. The abortion song with his wife was so cringey. That said, dude is a great musician, writes really good songs , although a bit slow for me to rock out to. dude can play guitar as well.

I have no fricking clue who this Jason Isbell guy is either. I’m shocked there’s a 7 page thread on this guy. I’m guessing he’s a popular country music singer today, I’ve gleaned that much from the posts. That would explain why I have no awareness of his existence as I would rather be hit repeatedly in the forehead with a 2x4 than listen to today’s country music.

Thanks for the link, I watched it.

I truly have never seen or heard of him before.

I didn’t care for his song or his voice or his delivery. Lot of cliches in that song. Tries to be deep, wants to be deep, but really is only paper thin. Sounds like any coffeehouse performer.

But hey, music speaks to different people in different ways. And clearly this guy has touched many people on a personal level. At least he’s not like Florida Georgia Line or Eric Church or a lot of today’s country music performers. That’s about the best thing I can say about him.

You’re clearly a fan, so we’ll just have to disagree. Won’t be the first time people have disagreed on music and won’t be the last.

He is widely considered to be one of the greatest living lyricists in the American music genre. Covering pop, rock, and country. Think whatever about his politics. But he's a musical genius.

He's brilliant.

I'm a white man living in a white man's world
Under our roof is a baby girl
I thought this world could be hers one day
But her momma knew better

[Verse 2]
I'm a white man living in a white man's town
Want to take a shot of cocaine and burn it down
Momma wants to change that Nashville sound
But they're never gonna let her

[Chorus]
There's no such thing as someone else's war
Your creature comforts aren't the only things worth fighting for
If you're still breathing, it's not too late
We're all carrying one big burden, sharing one fate

[Verse 3]
I'm a white man living on a white man's street
I've got the bones of the red man under my feet
The highway runs through their burial grounds
Past the oceans of cotton

[Verse 4]
I'm a white man looking in a black man's eyes
Wishing I'd never been one of the guys
Who pretended not to hear another white man's joke
Oh, the times ain't forgotten
[Chorus]
There's no such thing as someone else's war
Your creature comforts aren't the only things worth fighting for
You're still breathing, it's not too late
We're all carrying one big burden, sharing one fate

[Instrumental bridge]

[Verse 5]
I'm a white man living in a white man's nation
I think the man upstairs must'a took a vacation
I still have faith, but I don't know why
Maybe it's the fire in my little girl's eyes
Maybe it's the fire in my little girl's eyes
