Isbell doesn't mind making money from the conservative types who show up for his concerts.

Stop. Stop booking shows. Let a POC performer have your spot.

Ohhhh can’t do that. Gotta get that white privilege muny while trying to shame everyone else.

What's so special about The Ryman?

And this guy should tell all Christians to not attend his shows...you know because of their anti-lbxhjdggf views. Let's see how big his nuts really are by backing up the shite that comes out of his mouth. Don't want to tarnish such a special place with their evil Christian ways.

Why limit it to just one person you choose? Let the free market decide if they wanna punch him. Just my thoughts.

He’s a popular country singer. He’s actually pretty good. Just a pussy.

Jason Isbell is an underground country artist who go famous after Morgan Wallen covered his song "Cover Me Up". I've never been a fan of his music but he is a good songwriter.

Thanks for that disclaimer. Because I had just dismissed the whole lot of them as “VAG”abonds. That context you gave us makes a big difference and I admire the drummer even more now. Plus, it gives us hope that maybe, behind the scenes, when it comes down to it, a lot of these guys are just putting on an act and they’re actually NOT these “woke”, liberal cucks.

The Ryman? It was where the Johnny Cash show was televised.

Not surprisingly, his art is declining in correlation with his rise in wokeness

Which is almost universal. The reality is that a lot of good artists/actors/musicians/etc. are Democrats. But as their obsession with leftism rises, even if it just ignorant talking point regurgitation, their art almost always suffers. SNL is an example.

The problem with leftism is that it's a comprehensive life calling. It must infect all that you do, there can't be an independent part of you that isn't impacted by it. Hence, Jason's writing is getting worse and worse as it goes from gritty and authentic to cheesy social justice schtick.

It's almost like these people are mindless and just do what their PR team tells them to do in an effort to promote their brand.

Which is an epic fail on their part. I don't see too many blue hair progressives going out to buy his singer-songwriter "albums". But on the other hand, they sure may lose some sales. This is usual bad thinking on their part.

Little Richard said that country music is the white man's blues. Country music wasn't the type of music that black folks grew up listening to as it wasn'tcool. They liked R&B, Soul and Funk. White artists are just as rare in these three listed as black folks in country music.

Jason Isbell was “famous” way before Morgan Wallen covered his song. He had the number 1 album on the Country, Folk and Pop charts years before that happened. He has definitely gone down hill since then though. The Southeastern album was pretty legit.

When Nixon visited the Grand Ole Opry and connected country music with conservative values, these were, as Jacobin writes, “calculated attempts at inventing a ‘white working class’ and pitting it against the radical movements that had emerged in the 1960s.”
So, the “white working class” was a 1970s era invention?

If that was actually true, why have both parties been working so hard at destroying it for the past 50 years?
