Sports Illustrated has us ranked as the #6 brand according to revenue, so yes, I most definitely do consider NIL and advantage for us. No excuse for how poorly we've recruited in men's hoops.

Our 2024 class is ranked 30th. Is that what you consider a good class?

MBB Future

I've seen several people say that hopefully by next year, we should be a mid-tier SEC team. Since when is it our goal to be a middle of the pack SEC team in any sport? I know historically MBB hasn't been our best sport but shouldn't we have higher standards? Especially now since we can pay athletes and have one of the bigger brands in the country. Just seems like we're settling for mediocrity.

How many games do you think we're going to win? No matter how hopeful you try to be about it, we are not a good team.

Next Basketball Coach?

Anyone have any guesses on who our next basketball coach will be? I wasn't sold on McMahon when we hired him but didn't know enough about him to make a fair judgement. We'll be lucky to win 4 games in the SEC this year, which means it's time for him to go, so who is replacement gonna be?
People who are saying "Y'all have lost it." for thinking this isn't far fetched are serious haters. Towards the end of the season, JD was +2000 odds to win the heisman this year. +2000 odds is usually about 5th or 6th in preseason heisman odds. So to think he can't finish top four next year is just ignorant and not wanting us to succeed. :doublebird:
As much as I would love that, I don't see it happening. He's got too good of a gig at Baylor right now to leave for our possibly soon to be sanctioned program.
Hardly anyone is responding because MMA is irrelevant when compared to the big 3 sports. You really enjoy sucking your own cock don't you.
You can really tell when someone got bullied in high school. I initially thought you were joking but after seeing your other comments, it's clear you're not. Toxic asshats like you who put down on others just because they share different opinions are a waste of life.

Atop the list could be Baylor's Scott Drew. He's been linked to the Louisville vacancy this spring, although it seems unlikely he would leave Baylor one year after winning the national championship. Woodward could also make a run at the likes of Illinois' Brad Underwood, who has shown the recruiting chops to compete in the SEC. Could Woodward go back to Texas A&M and hire Buzz Williams? The Aggies have played themselves into the NCAA tournament this week. Arkansas' Eric Musselman could be a target, given his name recognition and what he has done with the Razorbacks. But Musselman seems to enjoy Fayetteville and has two top-10 recruits entering the program next season. One other name could be Florida's Mike White, who spent four seasons as the head coach at Louisiana Tech and has been mentioned as someone who could look to make a move.

If the NCAA cloud forces LSU to go away from high-profile candidates, keep an eye on Baylor assistant Jerome Tang, North Texas' Grant McCasland, Murray State's Matt McMahon and UAB's Andy Kennedy.

Who do you suggest we get? How many coaches his age are winning as much and recruiting as well? I’m not saying he’s perfect, I’m just saying he’s the best shot we have right now and we have put up with way worse for way longer. Y’all need to be patient.
It’s ok, illiteracy is nothing to be ashamed of.
One year was covid and we were under investigation which is never a good look for recruiting. This years team is awful on offense. If our defense doesn’t play lights out and we don’t score off turnovers, chances are we’re losing. Back to referencing Coach K; he didn’t make it past the 2nd round of the tourney until his 6th year. Who do you suggest we get if we fire Wade?

For all the Will Wade haters

It’s pretty obvious to see who just started watching LSU basketball because y’all don’t realize just how bad we were before Wade. This board is the largest collection of the most hypocritical and impatient people I have ever seen. Heading into the season, tPear already had the highest winning percentage of any LSU coach that coached more than one season. We have made it past the first round in back to back NCAA tournaments, something that we had not accomplished since 1985 and 1986 seasons (that’s when Dale Brown was our coach for all the newbies). Wade’s age is not talked about enough. He is a young coach and only get better as the years go on. I don’t think a lot of you realize how hard it is to win it all in college basketball. Mike Krzyzewski, arguably the greatest men’s college basketball coach ever, didn’t win his first title until his 10th year and had two all world seniors in Christian Laettner and Grant Hill. He was also handed a MUCH better situation and overall program than Wade was. I’m not saying he’s going to be Coach K, I’m just saying things take time. All you tPear haters need to chill tf out see how things play out. We’re winning more games than we ever have and our recruiting classes are only getting stronger.
I see a lot of people on here trying to blame certain players but we were just terrible as a team tonight. Everyone is overreacting (not surprised at all though considering how this boards history). Our offense hasn't been stellar this year but we shot 28% (18/63) from the field tonight! You can't expect to win games, especially against good teams, like that. We won't play this bad every night and hopefully we'll learn from it and take better shots. It never helps to start the game down by 17 either. We are in love with shooting 3s but we just don't have consistent shooters. We need to realize our offense should revolve around physicality, ball movement, and scoring defense. If we keep trying to get back into games by shooting 3s everytime we fall behind, we're gonna lose several more games. I'm sure tPear is ripping them a new one right now and we'll have a lot to focus on in practice this week.
Jason Isbell is an underground country artist who go famous after Morgan Wallen covered his song "Cover Me Up". I've never been a fan of his music but he is a good songwriter.
Tari Eason, LSU: Eason showed flashes of his potential last season at Cincinnati, but saw inconsistent minutes and rarely had a chance to show his true ceiling. That hasn't been an issue this season -- despite coming off the bench in every game. Eason has been one of the best defensive players in the country, while also averaging 15.8 points and 7.4 rebounds. He was outstanding against Georgia Tech last weekend, finishing with 23 points and six boards on 9-for-13 shooting.
