WaPo so be warned, but its about a press conference

quote:

Yutaka Katada, president of the Kokuka Sangyo shipping company, said the Filipino crew of the Kokuka Courageous tanker thought their vessel was hit by flying objects rather than a mine.

“The crew are saying it was hit with a flying object. They say something came flying toward them, then there was an explosion, then there was a hole in the vessel,” he told reporters. “Then some crew witnessed a second shot.”

It goes on to explain how they think he is wrong.

There's also this mix up:

quote:

Company officials said Thursday that the ship was hit on the port side, but photos released by the United States showed damage and a suspected mine on the starboard side.

At what point did the elite team of Iranian SpecOps get these mines on to the ship side, above the waterline?

Here's a link to the port they departed from. Would appreciate speculation as to how they snuck in with the mines.

Not our problem.

What we need to do is let Japan remilitarize. And let them handle Iran (and Fatboy) themselves.

The Iranians can fly now. They didn’t leave a port, they just casually glided over to the ships and attached mines? To the ship... above water level. Because you know putting the explosives beneath the water level would have actually sunk the ship.... and they cant fly under water.

They don't want to.

IIRC, it's literally part of their culture now after WW2.

Why do you think they call their military "self-defense" force?

Speaks to the accuracy of information coming out of Tokyo as opposed to onsite.
quote:

a spokesman for the vessel's manager BSM Ship Management (Singapore) said. The spokesman said 21 crew had abandoned ship after the incident, which resulted in damage to the ship’s starboard hull.

If moron Somalies can jump on a broken down fishing boat, go miles and miles into the open ocean, climb aboard a cargo vessel, and capture it, why can’t trained terrorist run up alongside a tanker, putting along in confined shipping lanes, and put a hundred year old technology magnetic mine or two on it?

Wow that was a long sentence.

Maybe it's time to let the Rising Sun put the Imperial Navy back together again.

I was fishing all day yesterday. On the radio they talked about how it was the Iranians. Very believable. I knew it wasn't the Iranians when they laid out the reasons it HAD to be the Iranians.

It’s a false flag that naive cucks like HHTM! are sure to fall for every time.

Notice how the Syrian “gas attacks” have magically stopped once Trump didn’t take the bait?

I'd be 100% in the false flag camp were it not for actions of the Iranians after the attacks.

Iran sent a small naval boat along side the Kokuka Courageous in the middle of the night. Iran does not deny that. It's crew was filmed attempting to remove "something" closely resembling a limpet from the KC hull. Iran state TV aired footage of the same, but cut out the portion showing the crew doing the apparent removal.

Those would seem to be inexplicable actions, sans Iranian involvement/culpability.

Most don’t see them. And these are designed, built, painted, etc not to be seen.
Somalia is a nationality, not a race!

Do you always call people racist with no evidence?

Ive seen way more ff'ers than Iran'ers, I think, but dont recall noting any follow up as to who and why.

If the question were put to me why I believe Iran, officially, was behind it, my explanation is that although it's a very mysterious situation given lack of direct proof of the ID of perp, I can't make sense of any other country being behind it given the relative insignificance of the overall damage plan. "Rebels"? Dont see what they'd gain either. Reprisal against the govt? Not enough fuel for such a fire.

That leaves Iran. Their potential motivation? General chaos, potential oil market instability, forcing the U.S. world police to either act or noticeably not act, cause further instability in the Straights of Hormuz, etc.

ETA...this situation was/is much, much different than a Syrian gas attack or Tonken Gulf scenario.
