I normally entertain what Jim has to say. But in this case, I think he is missing a few key aspects of what exactly the statute of limitations means. There are no statute of limitations on treason nor capital offenses.

How fricked up is it that Trump gets found guilty in state court for frivolous misdemeanors that were bumped up to felonies & this treacherous little goblin is on the verge of skating completely free. Hell no, not in my opinion.
But... I could totally see the powers that be reasoning that trust in public health institutions can't take the kind of hit that indicting infamous heads or former heads of institutions and departments would bring.
Covid, it's mismanagement, all that BS was a large but somewhat temporary hit- it's been passing and will continue to pass. The whole freak show is shot if the public gets real confirmation of the absolute corruption.
Public Health is serious business- I could see this administration and future administrations trying to "fix it" rather than burn it down and salt the earth.

State AGs could sue them, and with good reason. He would not be protected with a federal pardon. Oops should have read the thread someone already mentioned it.....
I dont think it will happen, but its not to protect him, its to protect the US. If he is found guilty it would open up a 100 trillion dollar lawsuit for every country in the world to sue us for killing millions.
