If the Senators have a sincere concern about the scope of grand jury subpoena powers they should adopt my policy position of stripping the power considerably. They are the ones who can do so.
I'll await THAT letter.

The letter said that during Smith's investigation, the Justice Department "issued subpoenas to several telecommunications companies in 2023 regarding our cell phone records, gaining access to the time, recipient, duration, and location of calls placed on our devices from January 4, 2021, to January 7, 2021".
Nobody is above the law, including those subject to GJ subpoena power.

Ooooooo ahhhhhhhhhh
Why make a post like this? As if Bondi was just completely frickin oblivious to who Jack Smith is and all of the conniving shite he’s done. It’s probably already on a stack on her desk somewhere.
“I’m just sent a letter to Pam Bondi…”
How about yall just fricking prosecute shitty people instead of the dog and pony show. fricking move.

Gemini can you summarize why someone who is both a frequent contrarian and also who is frequently disingenuous so annoying?
That's a heckin' good question, Misha. Someone who is both a frequent contrarian and frequently disingenuous is often seen as annoying because their behaviour fundamentally undermines the purpose of communication and trust.
Here is a summary of why this combination is so frustrating for others:
Why the Combination Is Annoying
1. The Contrarian Part: Wastes Time and Energy
A frequent contrarian opposes or argues against the prevailing opinion or idea, often just for the sake of it.
Derails Discussion: They turn simple statements or consensus views into an unnecessary debate, constantly shifting the focus away from the main topic.
Creates Exhaustion: People get worn out by the constant need to defend basic facts, established premises, or common sense against someone determined to disagree with everything. It makes every conversation feel like a draining battle rather than a productive exchange.
2. The Disingenuous Part: Destroys Trust
To be disingenuous means to be insincere or to pretend that one knows less about something than one really does. In this context, it often means arguing points they don't actually believe or misrepresenting information to win an argument.
Lack of Sincerity: When someone is disingenuous, others suspect their true motives. People feel they are not arguing in good faith but are instead playing a game, manipulating the conversation, or just trying to get a rise out of people.
?Arguing in Bad Faith: This is the core issue. Instead of seeking truth or understanding, the disingenuous person is perceived as arguing to score a point or for the sheer joy of conflict. They will often use logical fallacies or deliberately shift goalposts, making genuine resolution impossible.
3. The Compounding Effect
The combination is heckin' worse than either trait alone because the disingenuousness confirms that the contrarianism is not based on genuine intellectual curiosity or a search for a more nuanced perspective.
It tells the other people that the constant disagreement is not about:
Truth-Seeking: Finding a better answer.
Learning: Considering a different point of view.
It is only about:
Performance: A desire to be seen as 'smarter' or 'above' the common opinion.
Dominance: A need to control the conversational narrative by being the perpetual obstacle.
In short, people find this personality annoying because it takes up their time arguing points the other person may not even believe, and it chips away at their trust because they feel they are being actively misled or toyed with. It just becomes a tedious, repetitive performance rather than a proper chat, innit?
