Simple conclusion. They saw President Trump as an outsider and a threat to their onward push towards a Globalist utopia. So the word was out - he has to go. So what followed was a continuous uninterrupted lawfare assault - from Georgia, to New York, to Washington,D.C. I posted this thread, in case others were interested. My personal feelings going into it were that Jack Smith hated Trump and cut corners in prosecuting him. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen anything that was illegal that Smith had done that would subject him to a successful prosecution.
My hopes perked up when I heard Schmitt's cross-examination. About three minutes in he laid what seems (still) to be a possible perjury trap regarding Smith's actions and the office of public integrity.
About the 6 minute mark, Schmitt seemed to have the receipts for perjury regarding Smith's whereabouts on 2/4/24. THEN, when a clear image emerged showing the actual "receipt," it didn't prove ANYTHING about Smith's whereabouts on 2/4/24.
So, to the rational observer...one who dabbled in facts...Schmitt RUINED what could have been a slight victory for the Republicans, and turned it into a route for Democrats. ALL of the Republicans on the Committee who sat in silence after Schmitt's despicable act got tarnished. I have ZERO sympathy for them.
On a human level it was fun to see Katie Britt's horrified reaction when she realized what a disaster had just happened. Schmitt knew how badly he had screwed up by leaving with his tail between his legs immediately after he was exposed as a cheap liar.
More important than today is the fact that Schmitt TORCHED his political future (unless he apologizes soon). Ever since Schmitt filed Missouri v Biden in the federal courthouse where I had been a law clerk, I REALLY admired him. Now (absent an apology), I hope he never gets elected to anything ever again.

Did Schmidt have anything else to show Smith meeting Fani Willis and coordinating that case with her?
Or was “Jack smith has been to Atlanta at least one time” the entire thrust?
