Getting rid of that type of manufacturing is national suicide,
Remember during the pandemic how hard it was to get basic car parts? Imagine WWIII against China.. Our nation would shut down completely... We are too dependent on China

Do you use Oxygen and acetylene on your arc welder?
Regardless of the fuel, it's the same result.
You got a lot of helium or argon lying around?

China would shut down, too.
Which is why free trade makes the concept of WW3 much less likely.
Look at the nations who consistently cause chaos in the international system. Almost always they're nations who refuse to evolve and adapt to modernity. You're seeing it right now with Russia invading Ukraine.

I know that other people had that problem.

You know that electric arc welding doesn't require bottled gasses?
You need welding rods, and a way to make just enough electricity. I have plenty of both. So do a lot of other people. You can do a lot of things with a 200 amp alternator, you just have to figure out a way to spin it around.
Look, I'm retired, but I make a pretty good supplemental income repairing and fabricating parts for my neighbors' farm and dirt equipment. Enough that it finances my hobbies. Those hobbies are always leading me to learn to do more things too.
We are only limited by our imagination. if you have a will, you can find a way.
If I believe that I can do something, I am right, about 95% of the time( really, I always find a way, it just might not be according to original plan), If I think I can't, I'm right 100% of the time.

Dweebs like him are jealous of men who are strong and independent.
This is what it all comes down to. Otherwise he wouldn’t so confidently compare replacement of secretaries due to computer tech with the entire manufacturing industry.
It’s insulting to hear this nonsense. We are currently experiencing the effects of supply chain disruption due to globalization, proving the value of local manufacturing as a matter of national security and economic efficiency.
Markets do not give a shite about race. Yet as we encounter these market inefficiencies, our “experts” insert them either prospectively through policy or retrospectively through whatever this conference is. The market should decide where manufacturing takes place, yet you have people like this chose doing what? Trying to influence policy and economic decisions based on his own preferences, or even fetishes.
People like him should be the first to lose their jobs in a weak economy, the only way they preserve them is to make comments like the one linked in the OP. It’s his opinion vs market forces, who is the one with a fetish?

Excellent explanation. Perfectly describes their positions.

Does this play into the leftist racist belief that black people are too dumb to get ids, and use the internet? That elitist is implying that black people can't move up from the bottom tier of manufacturing.

Love the trolling.
But, this is a near perfect summation of our economy.

When that dweeb sees people like that, it must remind him how helpless he really is.
He probably has to pay someone, to fix every simple problem that he has.
This is 100% guaranteed. As with so many on the left, they look down on working people all the while proclaiming that are the protector of them.
Another example would be liberals who say plant workers and guys in the trades are ignorant since they didnt go to college. But society would collapse without those guys and we wouldnt even notice that all the sociology majors disappeared.

I know a couple of plumbers. That get $250 for plunging liberals stopped up toilets. That's $1000 an hour for those of you bad at math.

On the other side of him is a plumber, who uses his house, one of three he owns, as a downtown weekend retreat. Rolling in dough

I always consider that I'm nothing more than a cave man, trying to figure out how to make a blade from a piece of flint or obsidian, with nothing more to use as a tool, than another piece of flint or bone. You have to make it work, and you have what you have. That's all.
If you don't figure it out, your future will be ugly.
I have more advanced materials, tools, and methods, but I'm still the same. I'm looking around and trying to figure a way to do something with what I have, or what I can get. It doesn't always happen right then either. The solutions come like puzzle pieces, but if you think about it enough, you will get it.

The problem is that this development requires intelligence and education, and it naturally creates conglomeration in urban areas. This isn't some master plot (on both ends. It's not racist and it's not "globalist").
Lol. So when small towns die, who suffers the most? Families that have money and can send their kids off… or the minorities that don’t value education or intelligence and wallow in despair?
So are you saying that development is racist? That it is impossible to develop and simultaneously preserve a culture? Seems pretty short sighted.

People like that need a good old fashioned arse beating. The lack of that is part of the reason the world is in the current state.

Or liberal women that say I don’t need no man. While she has an iPhone, a Microsoft computer, an ice that drives on roads, lives in a house and wants her power back on after a storm.
