I’m not calling for it, and I’m not necessarily thrilled with the progress or seemingly lack thereof with this Iran “war.” But it doesn’t really seem like just continually bombing the same infrastructure over and over is having the desired effect. Maybe it is and we’re not privy to it, but it seems these on again off again strikes we’re performing aren’t getting the results that they were looking for at the outset.

I’m not saying that I agree with sending our best to another Middle East shithole country to die for nothing. But it seems damn near impossible to win a war without doubt that.

Agree boots on the ground will be needed. That doesn't mean our boots. Plenty of Iranians begging for firearms.

Al Qaeda did it with like 20 people - I wouldn't call that "boots on the ground"

There is no shortage of people from all around the world that has ties to Iran in some way that the US Government could be identifying, vetting, and training to go fight this regime in Iran. Why this wasn’t started early in the planning phase of Epic Fury I do not know because it always takes boots on the ground to end any type of armed conflict. I think there would be plenty of Iranian exiles and Iranian Americans that would volunteer to go. The CIA could have been identifying people living in Iran to smuggle out of the country to go train to fight. We have done this all over the world for decades. I think pretty much every Special Forces unit from every branch has done it over the years. The Green Berets and Marine Raiders are famous for going behind enemy lines and training an indigenous force to fight. It’s part of both units mission parameters. If we are not secretly doing this now at least then it’s total insanity.

Even if we had some force trained to fight we will probably still have to use a certain amount of US forces on the ground. If we take any islands then that will probably be US Marines. Taking an island is difficult and it would be hard to train and equip a force to do that. Im sure once the United States decides to go that far every Special Forces unit will be involved. I doubt we see a huge invasion force but we will see a certain amount of American boots on the ground like it or not.

What in the frick would be the point of putting boots on the ground in a third world country half way around the world? What would be the objective? To get the nooks everyone’s so fricking terrified of? Is this Iraq circa 2007? What would be the world’s response if Iran even thought about using a nook on anyone? Spoiler, they wouldn’t even be able to use it on the USA bc they’re a goddamn third world county halfway around the world and if they hypothetically were to use a nook, they would immediately be wiped off the face of the Earth by every nook bearing country on Earth

I think it’s pretty clear by now that the United States will not negotiate an ending to this Iran conflict that keeps this regime from funding terrorist, developing more missiles and drones, attacking shipping in the Strait, and giving up all the enriched uranium they have. To stop them from doing the things I just named along with obtaining the uranium we will have to replace this regime. To do that the United States will need a ground force. We will either have to send American troops or we can try to find and train people that would be willing to go so US troop involvement can be kept to a minimum if not totally kept out of this conflict altogether. I would prefer the latter but I would certainly take US troop involvement be kept to a minimum. Laugh all you want but it’s certainly worth trying to find alternative ways to find people to go in and fight in Iran so as many of our people as possible can sit this one out.
