There are so many issues to consider here, but one of them is the role of the chief justice of the United States, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. What is he doing here? What was he doing in the abortion case? What was he doing in the LGBTQ rights case? What is he doing siding with the liberals? Has he turned liberal? Well, there is a lot to consider in answering and asking that question. But as we think about Justice Roberts, one of the things we have to note is that even though it was intended that the Supreme Court of the United States would be the least dangerous and least political branch of the three branches of our national government, the fact is that it is still political.
