Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries just called the Supreme Court "illegitimate." That follows Democratic politicians and pundits calling for the packing of the Supreme Court. Nothing says Happy 250th Anniversary like tearing down the core institutions of the Republic.

Democrats routinely accuse Trump of tearing down democracy while they announce they plan to burn down the republic.

Republicans, who have never once pulled their heads out of their asses, are kidding themselves if they don’t think Democrats will also end the filibuster at first chance.

Lord, I hope not. People, even those in positions of power, posting their opinions on social media? We as society are really weak if that is a threat to democracy.

That doesn’t mean that people in positions of power have zero responsibility for the messages they send out to the people they influence. It just means that the people they influence, in my opinion, need not put those people in power up on a pedestal. The people in power should not be viewed as idols, in my opinion.

The issue is if he ever gets in the position to be able to do what he posted he's going to. Then it's not going to be an opinion on social media, it's going to be a reality. Don't think for a second the democrats don't want to do every one of those things. They do, and they will if they can

Expand the Court.

Of course she means once Democrats are back in power. If Trump expanded the court with 5 more conservative justices, she'd lose her mind.

I get the feeling that despite him telling you exactly what he wants to do and despite knowing he will likely be in a position to attempt to do it you’re finding reasons to not take him seriously.

The left doesn’t care about maintaining traditions or venerating existing systems, they only want power so they can wield it against their enemies (us).

We have to listen when they tell us who they are even if it’s uncomfortable to acknowledge it.

They only express this ridiculousness when SCOTUS doesn't rule the way they think it should. Marxist Dems are irrational and violent. Need reminding?

I apologize for my ignorance. I don’t know that he will likely be in a position to attempt to do it.

As an independent with no party affiliation, that statement also applies to the right for me.

I have zero problem acknowledging it, and it’s certainly not uncomfortable to do so.

Jeffries is the house minority leader. If the DNC takes Congress in a future democratic administration would he not by definition have the ability to accomplish what he outlined? Or are you just doubting that the democrats will have all three branches in the next few cycles?

Fair point, apologies I shouldn’t have assumed your party affiliation.

When Trump started telling everyone during the campaign he wanted to move towards tariffs that was an indication of intent. I’m just suggesting Jeffries and many others on the left including a majority of their base are in favor of what he’s repeatedly saying he wants to do.

My point is that it’s important for everyone right, center or left to not think people are unserious about making major changes when they’re in a position to do so and given the shift of the DNC base towards socialist candidates and hard progressive policies towards speech, taxation and our federal institutions I don’t just see this as possible but very likely as soon as control of the federal government allows for it to be implemented.

Yes, I doubt that. But if it does happen, there are plenty of us independents that will vote to take the power away from them.

There are obvious questions about how much “damage” they can do in 2 or 4 years.

Good argument. I acknowledge your point.

It does make sense.

I hope not. I prefer balance.

So, Hakeem Jeffries is instigating violence and an insurrection of the SCOTUS?

Well, this will surely be reported by the MSM

That kind of bitch arse talk is what enough folks finally caught on to and/or got sick of (for a litany of reasons) last election, which of course translated into a stomping of said bitch asses by Trump. They’re just too stupid to figure that out and make necessary adjustments.
