Clash of culture. I wonder if we will see the pageantry of celebration of this country's founding and success OR wokeness.

I'm going out on the Elk River, drinking copious amounts of booze, eating good food, and playing with dangerous fireworks. Nothing different for me.

The problem is that a lot of celebrations are being shutdown due to covid. Our neighborhood fireworks show isn't allowed to be held and we are in DFW. Sucks because they usually had small business vendors selling things, food trucks, music, and it won't happen this year.

Hate to say it, but it's going to be a bad one.

This is the first year I’m going to a public July 4th celebration in years. We use to go to one downtown in Augusta but idiots shooting omg the crowds put a damper on that.

I'm thinking we will see massive wokeness from the left and the media. Then we will see millions of baws spend more on fireworks than ever before.

Our parish's celebration usually has a decent sized crowd and no issues but with no celebrations in NOLA and Jefferson that may not be the case this year. The parish is encouraging folks to wear masks and socially distance (opening the ball fields up for people to setup chairs to watch). Will have a band and still start around 6 pm as usual based on the information I saw.

Nonsense I'll be drunk as shite waving my American flag around for all to see. If others can't enjoy it that's too bad for them

We have a bunch of relatives coming in, flag will be out... beer, burgers, and wings on the grill.

Going to be a good one.

I disagree with a lot of the characterizations that people on their political opposition on this board. However, there is no doubt that the left in this country does not believe there is anything about the founding of this nation that can be celebrated.

My mom was telling me she "heard on t.v." that there was a nationwide walkout by the police that day...?

If that's the case, it's gonna be on like D.K. 7/4/20.

In the 80s, some of my friends wore facial protection during the annual bottlerocket wars, so not much would be different.

The Left is already saying July 4th should be cancelled and not recognized, as "Juneteenth" is now the real independence day.

Going forward businesses and govt will only recognize the June date and make you take a personal day if you want July 4th off.

Before you say that will never happen, take a look at what HAS happened the last few weeks and get back to me.

Spending a long weekend at the cabin at the family lakes....just me, the wife, beer, bourbon, meat and fish. Don't plan on watching a second of TV or anything else going on outside of that property
