As they say in the law, appellate courts shoot the wounded.

She probably will. I doubt she wants her kids raised in Syria or Algeria.

It is almost like people did not read the SOS statutes regarding nonlegal citizens and the carve outs for being linked to or encouraging others to support a designated terrorist organization.

People are worried about this being misused by other administrations, but unless they literally designate the state of Israel or the Catholic church or some other conservative-aligned national organization a terrorist entity, it won't happen.

For some odd reason, this seems to only apply to organizations that those on the left seem to align with.

Well horrible or not, he does. He can appeal his immigration hearing and he'll soon sit in front of an federal judge, where all this will likely be decided.

Yes. But if you had the slightest clue as to the legal issues you would never comment. You were dead wrong. As you often are. Because you’re a moron.

Have a great weekend.

First, appeals are decided by a panel of judges. Second, oral argument isn’t automatically granted. Third, even if it is, only the lawyers argue the appeal in-person. Khalil doesn’t get to “sit in front of a federal judge” again. That happened today where he lost. Now he goes back to his cell until he’s released or deported.

But they're not using the carve-out for terrorist organizations. Rubio's memo (or the portion we've seen of it) references the section about foreign policy and says his presence "undermines U.S. policy to combat anti-Semitism around the world." All it would take is a SoS saying something like "US foreign policy is to combat anti-choice ideologies around the world to protect women" and bam, you can be removed for pro-life marches. And if the secretary of state has the final say, who gives a shite if you think that's proper foreign policy or not?

Immigration is a privilege. Why is this a difficult concept?

You probably know what I mean, but maybe you don't. I'll put a finer point on it.

Yes, an immigration judge is a federal judge. However a federal court judge in New York or New Jersey will hear other aspects of his case, such as his first amendment rights or lack there of.

His deportation is currently blocked.
