He wouldn’t have vetoed the shot on Khameini if regime change was number one.
Obliterate the nuclear capacity, let the Israelis take out as many senior leaders as possible, then you can have revolution and regime change without the need for US troops.

I don't know why I spend emotional energy thinking about this stuff anymore, but I hope there's some kind of plan that doesn't involve obliterating Tehran and turning Iran into another failed, chaotic, middle eastern country.

I think the Israelis are going to engage the shite out of the Air Force and everything around Tehran while heavily escorted US bombers hammer Fordow.

You're catching downvotes but I agree with you here.
I can remember being assured all through Obama's tenure that "Iran is just months away from having a nuke!" Then, I can remember hearing "Iran is just months away from having a nuke!" during Trump 1.0. Then, during Potato 0.0, we heard "Iran is just weeks/months away from having a nuke!". And now, in 2025 and under Trump 2.0, we heard "Iran is just weeks/months away from having a nuke!"
Our Intelligence is either horrible or full of shite. Maybe both. But this is a subject where I can distinctly remember hearing about this Iran nuke Boogeyman for almost 20 years.
One of these days, they'll actually be right, though!

This shite has very little to do with nuclear weapons. We like to think we are covering for Israel, but Israel is doing exactly what we want them to do in this situation. They can do nothing without our permission. We control the airspace between Israel and Iran.
This is about money pure and simple. Something in the overall equation changed in the last two weeks and nukes are probably 4th on the list.
