I feel like a lot of the United States’s foreign policy problems, particularly in the Middle East, are entirely caused by Israel. We don’t need Middle Eastern oil, but we invade countries that pose a threat to Israel. We suffer terror attacks as a result of our efforts defending Israel. I’m not anti-Israel. I just don’t understand why we continue to spend so much money and so many lives on their security when it seems to make our own people a lot less secure. If we also needed the oil, I would get it, but we don’t. China and Europe need the oil. I just don’t see what we’re getting that’s worth the effort expended. I have no issue with Israel doing what is best for its citizens. I just wonder why we seemingly don’t do the same for ours.
