Right now we can choose between:

A) The destruction of our Constitutional Republic

B) The destruction of our Constitutional Republic, but slower

I call it:

- accelerated decline

- managed decline

Yes. But it will replace the system itself. Somewhat of a paradox.

A third party should stem from and be tied to a convention of states. We desperately need to reel in federal spending and reset the power balance in government.

The legislative branch makes the laws
The executive branch enforces those laws
The judiciary interprets them.

We should be governed mostly by our local and state governments. The federal government is there for national defense and interstate disputes.

This business of executive orders and judicial mandates and 10,000 page bills no one reads and an absolute complete lack of care or understanding of local politics is what has destroyed this country.

The surrender of our individual rights, local powers, and state autonomy to national federal parties and politicians is as anti-American as it gets.

Great post.

The big question is how do we do it in a non violent way? It seems once money creeps into a lot of these politicians lives, they become part of the problem.

Theoretically: get involved in local politics and state politics. Make a push for a grassroots movement in your community. Do your best to educate people on the reasons for the checks and balances in government and the importance of limiting federal government powers. Beg people to stop voting for local and state politicians on federal party lines.

Try explaining it this way: what do the actual real local problems in Orleans parish have in common with the local problems in rural Iowa or Manhattan? Nothing. So why do the citizens of both counties vote for a politician based on which federal party he aligns with without knowing anything about his actual plans for the community he is elected to serve.

And remind people of that fact. Politicians are elected to serve. They are absolutely not elected to rule. They are public servants. With that in mind, challenge someone to name a politician you view as a servant instead of a ruler.

You can’t change the country. But you can absolutely change your community. And if more people realized this and dedicated themselves to it we might just stand a chance.

In reality: I doubt we can. The powers in DC and their lapdog propaganda machine have made it very clear that if you threaten their power they will destroy you and everyone you love and care about. And over half this country is giddy when they do it.

So do what I mentioned above. Create a tight knit community and do the best you can to peacefully change things for the better but prepare for the worst.

Do not ever be the one to start violence. But absolutely be prepared to defend yourself and your community.

A third party would take a couple cycles to show up. UNLESS we see Trump/Desantis type combative style not giving into them. Trump didn't finish his job and I would like to see him finish draining the swamp.

We would need a four party system. A three party system led by Trump, for instance, would just give the Democrats sweeping supermajorities and unlimited power.

You’d need the old Democrats and Republicans plus a new left wing and a new right wing party.

I don’t give a shite what race, gender, ethnicity, class, etc you are.

If you believe in a limited federal government, the American constitution, the bill of rights, and the principles in the Declaration of Independence this country was founded on, you’re a welcome addition to the new party.

We had a moment when a third party could have been formed, right after republicans knifed Trump and the American people in the back after the 2020 election. Had Trump immediately formed a third party then, we would right now be counting how many new third party legislators were going to be in congress. This was probably the worst decision Trump made for America in his political career.

It seems crazy to me that even Trump didn’t seem to understand the power that a third party, with no more than 6-8 congressmen and no more than 1-2 Senators could name their terms to republicans and marxist democrats alike.

Unfortunately, that iron is no longer hot, and with Trump himself stating that we must work within the same party that knifed us all in the back, possibly fatally, Trump is no longer the guy to lead that third party.

Government would function better with a true 3 party system.

Nobody wants to lead are party of independents, DINO’s, and RINO’s. Not enough people on the far left or far right to start a party.

To start a 3 party system it would have to start at the state level. Maine, VT, and NH would be a good start. North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho would also work.

States that don’t have a large Metropolitan area.

I’ve been saying this for over 20 years. The difference is that I’ve backed it up by not voting for candidates in the two party system. There are plenty of better options out there. Stop voting for socialists and socialist lites.

There was, about 10 years ago. The GOPe, with the help of the IRS, killed it.

Two of the three parties would just gang up on the third.

The real problem is politicians making a career of it. Term limits are out best bet.

Historically third parties do not do well in this country. What needs to happen is to turn the Republican party into the America First party.

Is that irony? People have been trying to do exactly that for at least the last 40 years. How’s it going? They just helped the marxist democrats spend 400 billion, and double the size of the IRS in a recession.

If the Republican Party is the answer, you are asking the wrong questions.

No. There will never be more than two viable major parties in this country because of our electoral setup. When a new one emerges, it simply cannibalizes one of the two major parties. It has already happened 3 or 4 times.

An America First party would just hand most elections to Democrats over a couple of cycles before either folding or taking over the GOP.

If it did it would start local and expand. It wouldn't just come out and win the national election.
